Apple Fixes Issue Influencing Location-Based Apps

Apple has fixed an issue that turned off the geolocation functions of the force-closed apps in iOS 7.1, developers report. Latest betas prove that closing an application in the so to say “wrong way” doesn’t influence its location capabilities. And that is another improvement of the next-gen iOS 7.1 that is expected to be officially released in March.

According to what iDownloadBlog writes,

This has been a major problem for developers since the launch of iOS 7 last fall—particularly for those who had location-based apps. Some devs have even reported that their App Store ratings have plummeted in the last 6 months due to the technical change.

Despite all the inconveniences caused by the bug, there was one advantage. Force-closing an app (and obviously background location services) helped to save the battery of the iPhone or iPad. A trifle, but that was nice.
