Apple Plans Construction Of New Campus In Santa Clara

The Oakland Tribune reports (via MercuryNews) that Apple concluded a deal with developer Peery Arrillaga for constructing a campus consisting from two buildings in Santa Clara, California, a short distance from Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino. The report said:

“Apple and Peery Arrillaga declined to discuss the development and leasing deal. However multiple sources with direct knowledge of the transaction told this newspaper that Apple has leased nearly 296,000 square feet from Peery Arrillaga in a deal that included demolition of existing buildings”.

The two six-story office buildings in the campus would hold 1,200 employees. Reportedly, the first building with 188,000 square feet would be completed in the middle of 2014. The starting construction date for the second building with 108,000 square feet is unknown yet. Bloomberg also reported recently that Apple’s "Spaceship" is expected to be completed in 2016.
