Apple to Unveil iPhone with Glass Body and AMOLED Screen in 2017
According to the latest report from usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will completely redesign the iPhone in 2017. Instead of the all-aluminum body, the company may adopt the glass casing for the next-generation handset. Apart from that, the new device may get an AMOLED screen, the expert believes.
Kuo believes that Apple will be moving to an all-glass enclosure, dropping aluminum completely as it will no longer appear modern or fresh in 2017. Apple’s smartphone competitors are also adopting aluminum designs in droves, making it more likely Apple will want to differentiate with entirely new materials.
The most recent report goes in line with the previous rumor that suggested Apple was planning to stop using aluminum casing and move to glass body as soon as next year. Ming-Chi Kuo is a reliable expert that has a good track record, so I guess we can believe what we see.
