DisplayMate: iPhone 5 Display Is The "Best Smartphone Screen"

DisplayMate published a comprehensive analysis of the iPhone 5 display and also provided detailed comparisons between Samsung Galaxy S III and the iPhone 4. The company concluded that the iPhone 5 has the best smartphone display they have ever tested.

“Based on our extensive Lab measurements the iPhone 5 has a true state-of-the-art accurate display – it’s not perfect and there is plenty of room for improvements (and competitors) but it is the best Smartphone display we have seen to date based on extensive Lab measurements and viewing tests”.

Specifically, they report that iPhone 5 screen has much lower reflections, a much higher readability and image contrast in bright ambient lighting. Also they note that picture quality and color accuracy have improved considerably in the iPhone 5.

DisplayMate’s Overall Assessments chart that compares Samsung Galaxy SIII, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 is shown above. They concluded that iPhone 5 screen significanlty outperforms the other two rivals.
