HP Is Going To Outrun Apple And Become "Number One Plus"

Journalist Matt Warman from The Daily Telegraph has recently posted a claim of HP's European head Eric Cador, who told at a press conference in Cannes that the company's devices will eventually overtake Apple's iPad:

"In the PC world, with fewer ways of differentiating HP’s products from our competitors, we became number one. In the tablet world we’re going to become better than number one. We call it number one plus."

It may be possible that HP just cannot see the battle in mobile comes down to Apple vs. Google, as this is the second time it lashes out at Apple. In March HP's senior vice president commented on Apple's "closed" ecosystem:

"Apple is great if you’ve got a lot of money and live on an island".

Besides that, HP's spokesperson also revealed on the conference that Touchpad will offer "thousands" of apps, which will be built using such web technologies as CSS, JavaScript and HTML5. The tablet will be launched first in the UK. Flagship app partners include the Guardian, Sky and Last.fm. However, it is obvious, that the Touchpad will need much more apps to compete with 70,000 apps for iPad and increasing app library for Android tablets.
