iOS 10 Has Been Successfully Jailbroken

A well-known hacker nicknamed iH8sn0w has successfully jailbroken iOS 10 beta that was released to developers last Monday. This means that Apple hasn’t patched all exploits that could be used to hack the devices running the latest version of company’s mobile operating system. Below you can take a look at the video showing a jailbroken iPhone 5 running iOS 10.

It appears that the jailbreak is bases on the relatively older iBoot exploit that lets users jailbreak their devices with A5(X) processors for life. This exploit is a good base for the development of jailbreak for newer devices running more efficient CPUs.

iH8sn0w first teased that he had a jailbreak a few days ago, when he tweeted that Cydia does not crash on iOS 10. Today, he posted a video of an iPhone 5 running iOS 10 with an untethered jailbreak.

It is very unlikely that someone releases a tool for untethered jailbreak within next couple of months. iOS 10 is only a beta, so it’s definitely not a good idea to make jailbreak utilities available for public as Apple can patch the exploits used for hacking in newer firmware versions.
