iOS 8.1.1 Successfully Jailbroken [Video]
Good news for all the users of jailbroken iOS-devices, who don't want to lose their jailbreak after upgrading to iOS 8.1.1. iH8Sn0w and XanderKitteh have recently successfully jailbroken iOS 8.1.1 and posted the video of the process to YouTube. In a short video you may see an iPad running Cydia with untethered jailbreak.
Hackers claim that they have been working on this jailbreak since last Friday. It should be noted, however, that the latest untether uses an iOS 8.1.1 vulnerability different from the one that is utilized by PanguTeam to hack the devices with iOS 8 - 8.1 on board. Due to some hardware restrictions, it won't be publicly released in the near future. Well, unless the Chinese developers steal it. Just joking.
Here's what iH8Sn0w writes about the jailbreak he performed:
Been working on this since last Friday with @XanderKitteh (really awesome dude).
This does not mean a public release of something jailbreaking-related is coming from me anytime soon. So don't update. iOS 8.2 beta1 went live yesterday. I'll look into that after I catch up on some school assignments I pushed to the side last weekend
Apple has reportedly patched the iOS flaw that made it possible to jailbreak iPhones and iPads running iOS 8 - 8.1 using Pangu8, that is why I suggest that you should stay away from iOS 8.1.1. At least now. I hope that iH8Sn0w and XanderKitteh will change their mind and create a new tool for untethered jailbreak for iOS 8.1.1 and higher.
