iPhone 4S Is Expected To Launch In Russia And Brazil On December 16th

This month Apple is continuing its global rollout of its new iPhone model and while the company has not issued any statements about its future launch schedule, retailers and carrier partners in some countries have announced availability of the device for December 16th. This round of rollout will include two of the most populous countries: Russian and Brazil.

The promotional page posted by Brazilian carrier Claro mentions the December 16th launch date. Also last week MacMagazine.com.br noted that several retail shops had begun selling both 8 GB iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S at very high prices (about $2000 for iPhone 4S with 16GB) prior to the official launch, however official pricing information for iPhone 4S from Apple’s carrier partners is yet to be seen.

Some Russian retail companies including Digital.ru have already reported that they will start selling the new Apple smartphone on December 16th and customers can already place pre-orders.

Besides Russia and Brazil, iPhone 4S will apparently launch in South Africa, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan, as reports citing the same launch date are also issued in these countries.
