iPhone VM 2: dynamic swap file for iPhone [Cydia]

tweak-icon

iPhone VM is a new tweak available in Cydia that allows to free some iPhone memory by creating a swap file. iPhone VM 2 is providing similar functionality.

Here are the differences between the two: iPhone VM creates a 256MB swap file. While iPhone VM 2 creates a 64MB dynamic swap file that can become bigger if needed.

There are some users who still prefer the old iPhoneVM and others who are better with iPhone VM 2. The installation of iPhone VM 2 provides automatic uninstall for the previous version.

iPhone VM 2 can be installed in Cydia through this repository: http://repo.beyouriphone.com.

  1. Hey! Thanx for such good news! No one other site for iphone posted about this awesome tweak! Thanx dude! Much appreciated!

As for the differences between iPhone VM and iPhone VM 2 it's the way both tweaks create swap file in system. From what I've read at the developers Italian site, they claim that iPhone VM 2 creates swap file naturally meaning that it has the same mechanism for creating swap file as in the MAC OS X.

  2. So it's better and much preferable to use. It also reduces number of lags especially when multiple apps are launched and makes them work smoother.
