Microsoft Releases Cortana to US and Chinese iOS Users

Following the release of the first testing version for a small number of iOS users last month, Microsoft has just released Cortana to users in the United States of America and China. As of Wednesday, Microsoft’s virtual assistant is available on the App Store and can be downloaded for free by all those who have an US or Chinese account.

In terms of functionality, Cortana is quite similar to Siri and Google Now. The assistant combines the best traits of its rivals and can create reminders, search for information, write messages and do lots of other things.

Currently, Cortana for iOS supports only three languages, namely, English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese, but with time Microsoft will surely add the support for other languages, so that the users from nearly all countries of the world could use the virtual assistant.

To use Cortana, one should have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8 or later.

Alongside the launch on iOS, Microsoft has also released Cortana for Android users, so if you have a compatible device, you may consider testing this virtual assistant right now.
