App Store: 1.5 Billion apps have been downloaded
Apple today announced that customers have downloaded more than 1.5 billion applications in just one year. Here's more statistics: there are now 65,000 apps in AppStore and more than 100,000 developers in the iPhone Developer Program. Great news. AppStore is really revolutionary. Here is a comment from Steve Jobs:
“The App Store is like nothing the industry has ever seen before in both scale and quality,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With 1.5 billion apps downloaded, it is going to be very hard for others to catch up.”
TomTom GPS Kit for iPhone [Video]
Many users are waiting for iPhone navigation software from TomTom. But it looks like TomTom will create a complete solution with a hardware part. They plan to create TomTom GPS Kit that will have additional GPS (more accurate), docking station, charger and probably a loudspeaker.
The devices that will support this kit are iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and even iPod Touch and iPhone 2G.

In order to understand the true power of the new iPhone 3GS let's do some tests on the new Apple device using the Backgrounder. You have about 150MB of RAM free, so you can open several applications and games at the same time and get good results. Here's the list:

Mail Progress iPhone Theme [Cydia]
Mail Progress is a new mod for iPhone. It will allow you to change the color of the bar indicating the sending of an email message. The application works through WinterBoard and offers the following color changes: Yellow, Sky Blue, Red, Purple, Orange, Green, Cool Grey, Black.
Mail Progress email is available in Cydia, category "Themes", ModMyi repository. By the way, it is and is compatible with firmware 3.0.

QuickShottr will automatically upload screenshots to the internet [Cydia]
QuickShottr allows you to automatically upload the screenshots made on iPhone / iPod on ImageShack site.
As you know, both Apple devices can create a screenshot ("pictures" of the screen). User just need to clicking the same time Home + Power buttins. QuickShottr will automatically upload screenshots to ImageShack (in background) and will copy the link to the clipboard.
So if you want to share a picture with someone just call the copy/paste and click "Paste." You can QuickShottr in any application, f.e. in instant messaging that does not support sending and receiving images. This functionality is also very useful for bloggers or those who must quickly send images.
Current version is 1.1, it has been improved a lot since 1.0. There is also a SBSettings toggle called QuickShottr Toggle, that will allow to activate and deactivate this QuickShottr functionality through a simple click.
QuickShottr can be found in Cydia via the BigBoss repository.

Warp Gate Preview: a new shooter in space [Games, Video]
This is a game called Warp Gate. We will have to drive a ship in space and complete various missions by eliminating the enemies with different weapons. The 3D graphics looks quite good and the sound creates a great atmosphere.
Worms for iPhone released [AppStore, Games, Video]
Worms game is now avaliable in AppStore for $4.99 (
Unfortunately to iPhone 2G/3G users it run really slow on therse devices.Here are couple reviews:
- The game is SLOW. Lag time at every action, even in menus.
- Really bad framerate.
- I was expecting this game sience laste year when rumors came up about worms. Now i’m so very disapointed! IT’s very SLOW!
However iPhone 3GS users are happy:
- Game is plenty fast on my 3GS!
- First game that require a 3GS.

Windows 95 and Windows XP on iPhone [Video]
Russian iphone user iWert was anle to run Windows 95 and even Windows XP on iPhone. He used Bochs (pronounced "box"), which is a portable x86 and x86-64 IBM PC compatible emulator (wikipedia
iPhone hardware is not made to run Windows on an emuator. So Windows 95 runs, but a bit slow. It takes 5 minutes to start.

Aera: flight simulator for iPhone [Video]
Ichromo announced Aera, a new game for iPhone and iPod Touch, which will appear soon in App Store. This is a 2.5D flight simulator. Here are some characteristics of Aera:

iWepLite: iPhone app to hack WiFi WEP code
Project iWepLite is an application that can find the keys to WiFi networks protected by WEP. Yesterday the developer released a new video:
Once the network is detected the application tries to hack the WiFi password using a dictionary of possible keys.

Navigon MobileNavigator for Free
Navigon has just released free version of their navigation application. Navigon MobileNavigator Lite includes the same range of functions as the full version, although no active route guidance with GPS support is available. In other words you have the maps and you can just browse without Turn-by-turn directions.
In US AppStore we were able to find and download Navigon MobileNavigator Lite North America. There are many different other apps in different AppStores. For example there is MobileNavigator British Isles in UK AppStore. Unfortunately there is no free Europe in one app.
Who still has not tested the Navigon can do it now. Good download.

Need For Speed Shift [Video]
EAMobile announced the arrival of Need for Speed: Shift for iPhone. Unlike Need for Speed Undercover this new title promises a true simulation of racing. The port has been confirmed via the Twitter EAMobile and official website of the game. Here is the announcement below:
Expect to be playing SHIFT in Fall 2009. It will be available on Xbox 360®, PLAYSTATION®3, PC and PLAYSTATION®PORTABLE (PSP) as well as on Mobile and iPhone.
