Amazon Removed External Links From Its Kindle App

Kindle app

This week Amazon updated its Kindle app for iOS in order to meet Apple’s in-app purchase terms and keep its place in the App Store. Apart from removing links to the Kindle Store, new update introduced about 100 newspaper and magazine subscriptions for iOS.

Each publication contains high-resolution color images and can be read on the iPod touch, iPad and iPhone with Kindle for iOS of version 2.8.

To purchase subscriptions you need to visit the Kindle Store, as you cannot do this within the application. However, you need to sign up only once and each edition of your publication will be sent directly to your device. The existent subscribers can access their chosen edition through ‘Archived’ items.

With new update it is also possible to highlight text and send excerpts and quotes to your friends on Twitter and Facebook.
