2.8-inch iPod touch for $99!

image-1According to iLounge, at this week’s event Apple is planning to unveil its new 2.8-inch iPod touch sporting the same resolution as latest versions of the device. It is said that the current Nano’s screen is a bit smaller, only 2.4 inches. At the same time it is running on the same processor (although it has less RAM).

The idea is pretty good, because it will help fill the gap between your Nano and Shuffle devices.

Some users believe that they would have difficulties in typing on 2.8-inch iPod touch, but we are sure that kids will really appreciate it. And the price is pretty funny, right?

Yet it is a very interesting concept. Just imagine Wi-Fi, web browser, email, 250, 000 applications from the App Store, maps, videos, photos and much more for $ 100 dollars. Is it tempting?

Future iPhones, iPads could recognize individual users

recognition

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office revealed a patent application from Apple entitled "Systems and Methods for Identifying Unauthorized Users of an Electronic Device." The invention describes methods to identify users through a picture, the sound of their voice, or even their heartbeat.

"The photograph, recording, or heartbeat can be compared to a photograph, recording or heartbeat of authorized users of the electronic device to determine whether they match," the application reads. "If they do not match, the current user can be detected as an unauthorized user."

If an unauthorized user were to attempt to access an iPhone or another device, the owner of the handset could be notified via a phone call, text message or e-mail. It could send the owner - or the police - a picture of the unauthorized user, or other information specific to the potential thief.

The handset could recognize an unauthorized user if they do certain uncharacteristic activities with the phone, such as hacking, jailbreaking, unlocking, or removing a SIM card.

iPhone 4 will be used to make porn

Invent the newest gadget and the porn industry will find a way to cash in. Associated Press reports:

When Apple Inc. launched the iPhone 4 and its FaceTime video conference feature, it didn't take long for adult-entertainment companies to develop video-sex chat services and start hiring workers through Craigslist.

On the photograph above, taken July 21, 2010, adult film star Teagan Presley poses with her iPhone 4 in Atlanta. Presley is experimenting with Apple's FaceTime feature.

We all remember how Steve Jobs talked about iPhone's and iPad's "freedom from porn" in email conversation. It looks like in real life FaceTime and new iPhone 4 will push forward porn industry.

Letter from Apple regarding iPhone 4 problems

Apple has published an official public letter of response to concerns about the iPhone 4 signaling problems. Some would say this is very nice and great. Others would complain this is just a cop out. Well, at least we see that Apple is aware of users' problems. Apple claims, that it's just a software problem of calculating how many bars of signal strength to display. Apple says there is no hardware problem.

Here it the full letter:

Dear iPhone 4 Users,

Over-the-Air HD Uploads In the Future

iphone_hd

One of the main features of the iPhone 4 is the ability to record HD-video in 720 p. However, users have discovered that in order to get the video off the iPhone you have to connect the device to the computer and download the file. There are simpler solutions of course, such as sharing the video via e-mail or MMS directly from your iPhone or uploading them to YouTube or MobileMe, but in the process of compressing the files lose greatly in their quality, making the HD-option rather useless.
