Apple Is Out of List of Approved Vendors for State Purchases in China





According to the latest report from Reuters, the Chinese government has recently removed Apple and several other U.S. tech giants from the list of approved vendors for state purchases. Such a step looks quite strange, especially after Apple has been several times accused of spying on users on demand of the Chinese government.

Samsung Makes Fun of Galaxy S6 Concepts [Images]



Every year, ahead of launches of new products from Apple, Samsung and other tech giants, dozens, hundreds and even thousands of renderings, mockups and concepts appear on the Internet, which allegedly show how this or that device may look like. While Apple or any other company simply ignores all this stuff, its South Korean rival takes most ridiculous, absurd and weird images and uses them to promote its next-generation flagship.

Tim Cook Reveals New Details about Apple Watch



According to what Tim Cook told local Apple employees during his latest visit to Berlin, Germany, the long-anticipated Apple Watch will be water resistant. Looks like the guys from Cupertino modified the original smartwatch model. You see, back in September, it was reported that it was impossible to take shower with the device on one’s wrist without damaging it.

Samsung to Produce DRAM Memory Chips for Apple and LG



According to the latest reports from Asian sources, Samsung has recently signed a deal with Apple and LG to supply these vendors with DRAM memory chips. These advanced chips will be used in the production of the next-generation iPhone called presumably the iPhone 6s as well as in the LG G4, sources claim. The worth of the deal remains unknown, however, we may assume that it is close to billions of dollars.

iOS and Android Account for 96.3% Smartphone Market Share in Q4 2014



According to the latest report from a research firm called IDC, the combined smartphone market share of iOS and Android accounted for 96.3% in the fourth quarter. Apple’s share managed to reach 19.7% and the share of Android equalled to 76.6%. Just for you to compare: n the last quarter of 2013, Apple’s iOS grabbed 17.5% of the smartphone market and Google’s Android occupied 78.2%. As we see, iOS products become more and more popular, making users change their Android devices to iPhones. The guys from Cupertino managed to sell as many as 74.5 million iPhone units in the fourth quarter. The shipments of all Android smartphones combined accounted for 289.1 million units.
