Apple is going to ship 850K iPad minis in first week of sales

Since the first shipment of the pre-orders for the iPad mini has already sold, tablets hit records wholesale and retail sales. About 850,000 units will be sold in first week of sales. In a report, obtained by AppleInsider, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that in the first week of sales Apple may ship about 850,000 iPad mini, based on a check of the supply chain and logistical considerations, such as transportation.

Kuo said that the mass production began before mid-October. Apple is limited to supply 7.9-inch devices, because about 950,000 units were produced before its launch. Such statistics shows the quote in the Online Apple Store.

According to the analyst Kuo, Apple will be at the top of the mid-size tablet market, surpassing sales of Amazon's Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7, the two largest competitors of iPad mini. In the first two days after the launch of the iPad mini, it is expected to reach the half-month norm of Kindle Fire and outperform the average monthly shipments of Nexus 7 in the fourth quarter.

Amazon's presicts that supply of 7-inch tablets reaches 6 million in the fourth quarter, but Kuo doesn't believe that it can happen. He said that there will a slowdown in deliveries of Kindle Fire and Nexus 7, and added that the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD currently has problems with the production.

Kuo sees profit in supply during holiday period: 8.2 million for iPad mini, 4.5 million for Kindle Fire HD and 1.9 million for the Nexus. Fire and Nexus monthly shippments are expected to decrease by 47% and 52% respectively, whereas the iPad mini will grow in the same period by 11 percent at the expense of their increase.

Within a few hours after selling the original batch of pre-orders, Apple has conducted the biggest launch of iPad mini in 34 countries.

Despite the fact that Amazon forecast is quite large (6 million in 4 quarter of 2012), it is very likely that the company will not be able to do it. Many suppliers feel that the amount of supplies of Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7 slowing down. Another unpleasant news for Amazon is that the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD has a problem with the production currently .
