Apple Fixes Issue Influencing Location-Based Apps



Apple has fixed an issue that turned off the geolocation functions of the force-closed apps in iOS 7.1, developers report. Latest betas prove that closing an application in the so to say “wrong way” doesn’t influence its location capabilities. And that is another improvement of the next-gen iOS 7.1 that is expected to be officially released in March.

Flappy Bird is not available on App Store



The currently most popular App Store game Flappy Bird was removed by its developer Dong Nguyen.  The latter informed the users about his decision 22 hours before he removed the app.

No information concerning the reasons, but that "It is not anything related to legal issues. I [Dong Nguen] just cannot keep it anymore."

The users are expecting the top-charter game to be returned to App Store, while you can still enjoy other Nguyen games, 'Super Ball Juggling' and 'Shuriken Block'.

80% of Apple Devices are Currently Using iOS 7



According to the recently updated App Store support page for developers, iOS 7 is now running on at least 80% of smartphones and tablets, which have access to the App Store. What that means is that the seventh version of the Apple’s mobile operating system shows the highest level of adoption, even though at first many users refused to upgrade to it saying the new design was ugly and inconvenient.

Apple to Start Working on Its Own Payment Service?



According to recent rumors, the company from Cupertino is currently planning to develop its own mobile payment service. Taking into account the fact that most of the iTunes Store accounts already have credit cards attached to them, a new payment method can become a convenient way to conduct financial transactions between customers and Apple.

Apple Acquires SnappyLabs - Rumor



The company from Cupertino has reportedly purchased SnappyLabs, the firm, which created SnappyCam photo app. Although the acquisition hasn’t been confirmed officially, SnappyLabs’ website is currently unavailable and SnappyCam app seems to be removed from the App Store.

The evad3rs team released evasi0n7 1.0.1 with the removal of TaiG App Store from the installer. No word on any other changes in the 1.0.1 version of evasi0n7. You can download the new version here.

Apple's 64-bit A7 Made Chipmakers Panic



Apple put the entire chipmaking industry in panic mode this September, when the company released a 64-bit mobile processor, claims an unnamed Qualcomm insider. According to what he actually said (via AppleInsider), support for 64-bit processing "hit us [chipmakers] in the gut".

Apple Tweaks iOS App Store Search Algorithms, but Why?



On December 11th or December 12th, Apple updated iOS App Store search algorithms. Such a change made all the apps fall at least 40 spots down in App Store rankings. This is eight times more than usually.

Number of Apps on U.S. App Store Reaches 1 Million



The number of apps on the U.S. App Store for both iPhone and iPad has reached 1 million. As of Saturday, there were 1,006,557 apps available for download, MacRumors reports. This figure doesn’t include “foreign” apps i.e. those available within one country or a couple of countries, but not in the United States.
