Adobe Adds Retina Display Support To Illustrator And Photoshop CS6

Today Adobe released updates to Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6 adding support for Retina displays. Now customers can see more detail in text and images in the user interface of these programs when working on computers with high-resolution displays such as a new MacBook Pro. Currently, the HiDPI feature in the Illustrator is available only on Mac OS, but in the future it is expected to be available on other operating systems.

These updates are available for owners of standalone licenses and Creative Cloud subscribers.

In August, Adobe had announced that it would add Retina display support to several of its programs "this fall", noting that update for Photoshop required the replacement of 2500 cursors and icons as well as engineering efforts to optimize the experience for high-resolution displays.

Adobe's Create Now conference will start tomorrow, where the company is likely to announce more about its software offerings.
