Pizza Hut has just released a new iPhone app, one that lets you order food as well as play a racing game. This app does what you'd expect it to do — order pizza and wings — while also making full use of the iPhone's functionality. When you order wings, for example, you need to shake your phone to get the wings covered in sauce. Cool?

Apple released new SDK and new firmware and 3.1 beta 2. Unless you have a developer account with Apple, don't plugging your iPhone into iTunes, you're not going to have access to it. However here is an unofficial changelist:

• Minor release focused more to fix the bugs.
• New APIs for video and images. It appears that there will be many applications in AppStore, suitable to apply effects on a video or create animated slideshow.
• Xcode bug-fixes.
• More items have been localized, such as "In Play", "Request access WiFi".
• Developers will be able to use WiFi for debuging, etc.
• Baseband is now version 05:10:01. This means that all those who use unlock - do not update yet.
• The iPhone is heated much less.
• Old method to turn tethering on  does not work anymore.

Developers of MiniGore released a new video-game and the application has already been sent to Apple and is awaiting approval.

Apple today announced that customers have downloaded more than 1.5 billion applications in just one year. Here's more statistics: there are now 65,000 apps in AppStore and more than 100,000 developers in the iPhone Developer Program. Great news. AppStore is really revolutionary. Here is a comment from Steve Jobs:

“The App Store is like nothing the industry has ever seen before in both scale and quality,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With 1.5 billion apps downloaded, it is going to be very hard for others to catch up.”

Many users are waiting for iPhone navigation software from TomTom. But it looks like TomTom will create a complete  solution with a hardware part. They plan to create TomTom GPS Kit that will have additional GPS (more accurate), docking station, charger and probably a loudspeaker.

The devices that will support this kit are iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and even iPod Touch and iPhone 2G.

Quantum Collapse is one of the best games RTS (Real Time Strategy) games for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game was released less than a month ago and has already been updated to version 1.1. Regular price is $3.99, but it is on sal enow for $0.99 (AppStore link). There is also a free lite version (AppStore link).

Features:

• 13 Campaign missions providing more than 8 hours of gameplay
• 11 Skirmish missions with 3 different AI Types.
• Amazing Particle Effects and Explosions
• 2 Completely different factions with unique designs and powers
• Voxel generated terrain (no repetitive tilemaps)

In next version developers will implement multiplayer with voice-chat. Note for iPhone 3GS users: the game has graphical glitches on the iPhone 3GS. Developers found the solution and the fix is on it's way.

This is a game called Warp Gate. We will have to drive a ship in space and complete various missions by eliminating the enemies with different weapons. The 3D graphics looks quite good and the sound creates a great atmosphere.

Worms game is now avaliable in AppStore for $4.99 (iTunes link). It is so popular and it is really great. Here are couple screenshots:

Unfortunately to iPhone 2G/3G users it run really slow on therse devices.Here are couple reviews:

• The game is SLOW. Lag time at every action, even in menus.
• Really bad framerate.
• I was expecting this game sience laste year when rumors came up about worms. Now i’m so very disapointed! IT’s very SLOW!

However iPhone 3GS users are happy:

• Game is plenty fast on my 3GS!
• First game that require a 3GS.

Ichromo announced Aera, a new game for iPhone and iPod Touch, which will appear soon in App Store. This is a 2.5D flight simulator. Here are some characteristics of Aera:

• Various types of mission and the Free Flight;
• Multiplayer games;
• Advanced physics simulation;
• There are many places and different aircrafts to fly;
• Carefully made in 3D;
• Game is controlled by accelerometer;
• WiFi multiplayer (the Peer to Peer Bluetooth will be integrated with an update);

Navigon has just released free version of their navigation application. Navigon MobileNavigator Lite includes the same range of functions as the full version, although no active route guidance with GPS support is available. In other words you have the maps and you can just browse without Turn-by-turn directions.

In US AppStore we were able to find and download Navigon MobileNavigator Lite North America. There are many different other apps in different AppStores. For example there is MobileNavigator British Isles in UK AppStore. Unfortunately there is no free Europe in one app.

Who still has not tested the Navigon can do it now. Good download.

EAMobile announced the arrival of Need for Speed: Shift for iPhone. Unlike Need for Speed Undercover this new title promises a true simulation of racing. The port has been confirmed via the Twitter EAMobile and official website of the game. Here is the announcement below:

Expect to be playing SHIFT in Fall 2009. It will be available on Xbox 360®, PLAYSTATION®3, PC and PLAYSTATION®PORTABLE (PSP) as well as on Mobile and iPhone.

Worms is a very famous game. This version was designed exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch and, according to developers, is similar to the PlayStation 3.

iTwitter is really first app that has push. But push only works if the person @replying or DMing you is using iTwitter too. Well, looks like this kind of push is almost useless...

Sakhr is a translation company with big clients like the U.S. Department of Defense and Homeland Security. They specialize in English/Arabic translation, and this demo of their iPhone/Blackberry app (not publicly available) looks like the Holy Grail of translation software.

You hold a button, say a phrase and the software captures the information through speech recognition. The text is then translated into either Arabic or English (in the cloud, we believe) and then read aloud so mispronunciation is not an issue.

Voice recognition is a hard part. But if an app works even with 85% accuracy, that's close enough for most tourists—even if soldiers could find the mistakes a bit more costly.
