iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Are Not as Bendable as It Was Believed [Video]
According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Reports, Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus is not as bendable as it was believed. It took 90 pounds of force to bend the recently-released 5.5-inch iPhone and about 70 pounds of force to deform its 4.7-inch sibling. The larger handset is actually stronger, which is a bit of surprise for me.
Apart from the new iPhones, Consumer Reports took several other smartphones, namely, the iPhone 5, the HTC One (M8), the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the LG G3 for testing. And here are the results:
The HTC One (m8) performed the worst in Consumer Reports' test, deforming at 70 pounds of force and coming apart at 90 pounds of force.
The LG G3 started to deform and come apart at 130 pounds of force while the iPhone 5 deformed at 130 pounds of force and came apart at 150 pounds of force. The Galaxy Note 3, on the other hand, deformed and came apart at 150 pounds of force.
Looks like all the jokes about the iPhone 6 Plus bendability are nothing more than jokes as according to the official data shared by Apple, only 9 people out of several millions reported bent iPhone 6 Plus unit.
