Apple Announces $150 iPhone 6 Plus Multi Touch Repair





Apple has announced the iPhone 6 Plus multi-touch repair program. The company is offering a display repair to those, who have encountered the so-called “Touch Disease” hardware fault. However, the program is a bit different from all other as Apple demands that the customers pay $150 for the repair, claiming the issue is caused by dropping the phone, not by hardware defect. The company also gives the money back to those who already paid for the repair.

Apple Announces iSight Camera Replacement Program for iPhone 6 Plus



As it turns out, some iPhone 6 Plus units may have faulty iSight cameras. According to Apple, there’s a small percentage of devices with components inside that may fail by themselves making the photos taken with the help of the iPhone 6 Plus look blurry. Because of the problem, the guys from Cupertino have just launched a special replacement program. Users with faulty iPhones may have their devices repaired for free.

Apple Invents New Aluminum-Like Metal for iPhones



According to Apple’s latest patent filing, the guys from Cupertino have recently created a new material that looks and feels like metal, but actually is a frequency-transparent plastic. This invention can possibly allow Apple to get rid of the antenna bands that can be found on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and create a smartphone with an incredibly sleek design. 40% of U.S. iPhone Users Upgraded to iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus - CIRP



According to the latest report from a research firm called Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), nearly 40% of the iPhone owners in the United States of America have upgraded to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus since the release of the handsets last year. The total number of Apple’s iPhones in use was equal to about 94 million in March. 25 million out of this number were iPhone 6 units and 13 million - iPhone 6 Plus units. Since March, the number of active iPhone users has grown.

New iPhone 7 Concept by Martin Hajek [Images]



As you probably know, last year, Apple released two smartphones, namely, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. According to the latest rumors and the reports from reliable insiders, this year Apple may unveil two or even three smartphones at once: one with 4.7-inch display, one with with 5.5-inch display and one smaller with a 4-inch display. If to speak about other specs of the long-anticipated devices, they remain unknown.

Keeping in mind all the rumors, a well-known concept designer Martin Hajek has recently created its own model of the next-generation iPhone called presumably the iPhone 7 (or the iPhone 6s). Phablet Market Grows 21% in Q1 2015 Driven by iPhone 6 Plus Sales



According to the latest report from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, the phablet market grew 21% in the first quarter of this year. What is interesting is that this growth is caused by the immense demand for Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus, which occupied as many as 44% of the market. Just for you to compare: last year, the phablet market growth accounted for only 6% in the first quarter. The main reason for people to choose a phablet is the size of its display. Apart from that, phablets are usually better in terms of performance and battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Is as Bendable as iPhone 6 Plus [Video]



Even though Samsung officials say the Galaxy S6 Edge features a metal casing, which is 50% stronger than the casing used in other high-end smartphones and that the device is not as bendable as the iPhone 6 Plus, it looks like it is actually a bit more bendable than the 5.5-inch iPhone. According to the results of the latest durability test conducted by a firm called SquareTrade, the smartphone from South Korea bends at 110 lbs of pressure, just like the iPhone 6 Plus. The breaking point of the handset is 149 lbs, while the one of the larger-screened iPhone is 179 lbs. Looks like the 50% stronger casing doesn’t work as it should.

Only 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus Will Feature Force Touch - Rumors



According to the latest rumors shared by people familiar with the matter, the guys from Cupertino may add Force Touch only to their 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus. The same sources claim that TPK, a firm, which produces 90% of Force Touch sensors for the Apple Watch, will later this year report record-breaking profits because of the orders for suchlike sensors for the next-generation iPhones. What is interesting about these sensors is that they are nearly three times more expensive than those for the wearable device.

iPhone 6C Will Cost About $400-500 and Feature A8 Processor?



As you already know, Apple is reportedly working on a 4-inch iPhone 6C, which will be released alongside the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus later this year. According to the most-recent rumors, the handset may be equipped with a 20-nanometer A8 processor manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company.
