Apple to Sell 71.5 Million iPhones in Holiday Quarter - Analyst

According to the latest report from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple will sell as many as 71.5 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units during the holiday quarter. The analyst believes that the 4.7-inch device will account for about 60% of sales. Apple's A8 Chip Supports 4K Video Playback?

According to the latest reports from people familiar with the matter, the A8 chip found inside of Apple's latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is capable of playing 4K video. And that is rather strange, I must admit, as the aforementioned devices have a display resolution of "only" 1334 x 750 and 1920 x 1080 pixels respectively. The support of ultra high-definition video has been discovered by developers who created a popular Mac app called WALTR.

Mass Production of iPad Pro to Start in Q2 2015 - Ming-Chi Kuo

According to what usually-reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo writes, Apple's long-anticipated 12.9-inch or 12.2-inch iPad Pro won't enter mass production until the second quarter of the next year. Kuo believes that the thing that will push the production of the large tablet back is a brand new display, which is currently at the development stage.

New iPhones Are Less Popular Among Former Android Users Than Expected

According to the latest survey results published by a research firm Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are not as popular among Android switchers as they were expected to be. In fact, the amount of former Android users who decided to purchase Apple's handset this year is nearly two times smaller if to compare with 2013. Just look: 12% and 23%. I must admit, the difference is immense. What is even more interesting is that the number of Windows Phone or Blackberry switchers turned out to be smaller in 2014 as well; more people decided to upgrade to the iPhone 5s last year and not to the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus this year. This means that about 80% of the new iPhone buyers are former iPhone owners.

After such crashes, the smartphones get stuck in a boot loop and  it takes much time to bring them back to normal functioning. Apple Won't Develop iPad mini, Will Focus on iPad Pro

According to the latest report from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple is currently planning to stop the development of the iPad mini to focus on the new project, which deals with the larger-screened iPad Pro. This year's iPad mini 3, the reporters claim, became the last Apple's product of its kind. While the guys from Cupertino haven't yet commented in the issue, such a step looks quite possible and logical. You see, the smaller tablet can be now substituted by the 5.5-inch iPhone, which is a bit smaller, but large enough for comfortable web-browsing, reading or playing games. For all the other things there's a normal full-size iPad.

Apple's Vice President Greg Joswiak Apologizes for iOS 8.0.1 Bug

Greg Joswiak, Apple's VP of iPhone marketing, earlier today had an interview with Re/code reporters Ina Fried and Walt Mossberg. During this interview, Apple representative apologized for the iOS 8.0.1 bug that made it impossible for many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users to access Touch ID and cellular service on their smartphones. Joswiak claimed that a problem with iOS 8.0.1 was caused by the software distribution and not by the flaw in the operating system as it was believed earlier. Anyway, it was a terrible mistake, so I guess the guys from Cupertino should find out whose fault was that.
