iPhone Market Share in Japan Is Close to 70% - Apple VP Greg Joswiak

Greg Joswiak, Apple VP of iPad, iPhone and iPod Marketing, in a short interview to TV Tokyo revealed that iPhone market share in Japan is close to 70%. When asked about the next-gen iPhone 6, Joswiak avoided answering the question. Well, this is what Apple employees usually do after they hear questions about the upcoming products.

Here’s what can be found on Japanese blog Makotakara [Google Translate]:

Mr. Joswiak questioned on about a popular reason in Japan spoke, "The share in Japan went up fast, and became it 70 percent near now. The quality of merchandise is assessed in Japan though prices were given priority most according to countries".

Earlier this year, Apple’s iPhone debuted on Japanese largest carrier’s network - NTT DoCoMo. This event surely boosted sales in the country. However, I believe iPhone can become even more popular here.
