Quanta Computer Starts Production of 12-inch MacBook Air





According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple supplier called Quanta Computer is currently ramping up the production of the widely-rumored 12-inch MacBook Air. The reporters claim that the release of the new laptop will take place in the first quarter of this year. This goes in line with the recent rumors about the device.

The report is based on the data from reliable insiders, which indicates that Quanta Computer has recently hired 30.000 new workers to help in the assembly of the MacBook Air. By the way, the same company has also won the orders to assemble the Apple Watch.

Taiwan-based ODM Quanta Computer has begun volume production of the new 12-inch MacBook Air, paving the way for Apple to launch the device in the first quarter of 2015, according to sources at Taiwan-based supply chain.

The new laptop will get Intel’s energy efficient Broadwell processor, larger display with higher resolution, moreover, it will become much thinner and lighter.
