Reuters Confirms iPhone 5 Will Be Launched in September
Today Reuters reported that the next-gen iPhone will be released in September. The publication cited three people familiar with the matter, who told that the device will get a faster CPU but will look much like the iPhone 4. No further details have been revealed.
The suggestion about iPhone 5 release in September is supported by many sources, including the latest Ming-Chi Kuo's report. Kuo's access to the supply chain allowed him to find that the new device will get an 8MP rear camera, improved antenna design, Qualcomm baseband for GSM/CDMA technologies support and the same A5 processor that is currently used in the iPad 2. DigiTimes also reported recently that the new iPhone launch this summer is very unlikely, as a production roadmap wasn't ready at the moment.
Some publications report the delays in production may be caused by Japan's earthquake.
