Today Advertising Age reported that Virgin plans to release its new magazine called "Maverick". It will be targeted on the international audience with covering such areas as travel, technology and entrepreneurism. But its main idea is that it will be fully digital, with no print version available anywhere. First of all the app for iPad will be developed, then the content will be brought to iPhone and Android. Engadget reports about another hack made in the Book category of an iTunes App Store. 42 of the top 50 books now belong to a seller named Thuat Nguyen, whose company is written as “mycompany” and its site is www.home.com. Almost all of these books have been published in April and have little to no customer reviews or ratings. Though it is claimed that the books are available in English and Japanese language, people report they are actually appear to be in Vietnamese.
Engadget also claims that many people report about iTunes account hacking that became a reason of spending hundreds of dollars on above-mentioned books without any wish and permission of its owners. That cannot be a coincidence, so it is recommended that every Apple customer will check his purchase history in his Apple Account information.
New reports made by Mac Stories and PadGadget reveal new data on App Store. Here are the most interesting facts:
Over 2,100 titles in the Apple's App Store are iPad games;
78% of all iPad apps are paid (which is almost equal to 80% value of previous Moblix report);
Almost 75% of all 225,000 iPhone apps are also paid;
2,5 months needed for iPad apps library to reach the 10,000 milestone (For comparison, it took five months for iPhone apps and 11 months for Google's Android Market to get the same result).
Currently iPad apps store is the third biggest after iPhone and official Android apps store.
RIM's BlackBerry App World, Nokia's Symbian platform and HP's Palm/webOS have less than 7,000 apps.
It is important to note that Google currently forbids putting Android Market on non-smartphone devices, so there is no opportunity to compare the actual numbers of Android and iPad apps.

Today Engadget revealed new information on the next-gen Apple TV that was received from sources close to Apple.

New article posted by the Wall Street Journal reveals details on the hysteria around iPad in Japan, where people waited for days to acquire this innovation product. The exclusive carrier of the 3G in Japan Softbank reported it stopped making reservations for the iPad after three days.
"Softbank says it is under strict orders from Apple not to disclose how many reservations it has accepted or how many will be distributed Friday. It wouldn't even disclose whether consumers could buy the iPad on Friday without a reservation."
New York Times reports this is not the first Apple device that has such a huge success in this gadget-loving nation. Moreover, the Cupertino's company has 72% share of overall Japan's smartphone market.
The edition claims 1200 people lined up to buy an iPad at the Apple Store that is situated in Central Tokio.
According to Engadget, new Apple's commercials will be shot by Sam Mendes, who is an Academy Award Winning director that is widely known for his work on "American Beauty". Website's editor Joshua Topolsky says the ad will show new video chat abilities of iPhone:
"A trusted source has confirmed to us that the ads will feature at least one spot where a mother and daughter are having a video chat conversation using the new front-facing camera that's been spied on the face of that iPhone floating around Vietnam and Northern California".
