Today smartphones perform the same functions as our personal computers. They load the websites, take pictures, send and receive e-mails, reproduce high-definition videos and have a lot of other useful features.
Since the iPhone 4 has been launched, many users are eagerly awaiting the new iPhone 5, as they start speculating on what this fruitful company plans to add to its device. What can it really do?
It is obvious that the iPhone 5 should have iOS 5 or 6, which will be pre-installed on it. But let's briefly retreat from reality...
So, if we dream up a bit, that's what can get:
iPhone 5 to Be Made of Liquid Metal, à la T-1000 from Terminator 2?
Do you remember the robot called T-1000 Skynet made of liquid metal in the film Terminator 2? It seems that Steve Jobs decided to create devices of next generation using Liquidmetal Technologies, a California company from which Apple has recently acquired the exclusive rights for creation of liquid metal alloy products.
One of the best and most distinctive factors in all Apple products is how this company produces its own devices, the quality of production, as well as the materials used, which, undoubtedly, have first-class quality.
Now that Apple has the exclusive rights to create products of the liquid metal, we can assume that it has no plans to create a robot for the next Terminator movie, but probably will use it for such devices as iMac, iPad and iPhone of the next generation in order to be one step ahead of its competitors.
New iPhone and iPad Models Set to Begin Field Testing?
A source has revealed code in iOS 4 showing that new iPhone and iPad models may be set to begin field testing. The relevant code allows devices carrying the designations of iPhone3,2, iPhone3,3, and iProd2,1 to "auto-activate", a process said to allow carriers to test the devices without requiring manual activation through iTunes.
Software evidence of Apple's future devices tends to appear rather early in the development process, as evidenced by iPhone3,1 appearing in iPhone OS configuration files in March 2009. That device turned out to be the iPhone 4, released 15 months later. Evidence of field testing of the iPhone 4 appeared by late November 2009, more than six months before its public launch. The fact that the new iPhone models carry the iPhone3,2 and iPhone3,3 designations rather than "iPhone4,1" suggests that the hardware is a relatively minor revision to the existing iPhone 4, although it is unclear why there are two new iPhone models in testing.
Verizon iPhone to have new internal antenna, 3.7 inch retina display, and 1.2 GHz chip?
We’ve gotten exclusive legit details of the upcoming Verizon (unicorn) iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 supposedly will gain a 1.2 GHz next-gen A4 chip, a larger 3.7 inch retina display, an all new internal antenna, all in a more durable design. To be honest that just sounds like the probable iPhone 5 launching in June 2011.
To prove all that, we may say, that Verizon isn’t likely to want launching in January an iPhone 4 that has identical specifications to the current AT&T model. Another possibility, if this is all true, is that the probably iPhone 5 launching in June '11 will be the first (AT&T model too) and will carry the rumored features.
Apple Will Assure Product Quality by Appointing a New Pro
According to AppleInsider, Apple's employee Jeff Williams has recently been promoted to right hand man of chief operation officer Tim Cook. That move was made to ensure that Apple products meet "the highest standards of quality" after it was revealed that iPhone 4 has significant problems with antenna, bluetooth and proximity sensor.
Before 2004 Jeff Williams was Apple's head of worldwide procurement and managed company's supply chain of the music player components. Then he became a Vice President of Operations and played a significant role in worldwide launch of iPhone and iPod.

June 2009 Mobile Metrics Report from AdMob
AdMob published it's June report, showing detailed statistics about smartphone market. As for iPhone 54% of iPhone OS devices are currently in the US; however, this number has slowly declined from 61% in the last six months, implying that international users are growing faster than those in the US. Following the US, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France each have over 5% of users. As a region, Western Europe has a 26% share of iPhone and iPod touch users.
Based on Apple guidance, the company has shipped 26.4 million iPhones and approximately 18.6 million iPod touches to date.
