webOS Runs On iPad 2 Twice As Fast As On The TouchPad
The Next Web that Hewlett-Packard engineers have tested webOS on iPad and to their dismay they found out that webOS runs on Apple’s hardware more than twice as fast as on the TouchPad hardware.
HP Discontinues Smartphone And Tablet Hardware Business
According to Bloomberg’s , Hewlett-Packard, one of the largest computer makers worldwide, is going to announce plans to spin off its personal computer business in order to focus on cloud-based services and software. The computer maker confirmed that its board of directors has authorized the decision of partial or full separation of its Personal Systems Group (PSG) from the company by means of spin-off or other transaction. The announcement about spin off is planned to be made later today after the company publishes its quarterly financial results.
Apple Is A Top Performer In Mobile PC Market
Today analytics firm published its estimations of mobile PC sales for the 2Q 2011. The research counts both tablets and notebooks, and Apple managed to outpace all its rivals with 21.1% of the market share. The company easily passed (by nearly 4 million units) second-place HP, which has 15% share with 9.7 million units shipped.
Apple Cut Prices For Touch Panels By Nearly 50 Percent
As DigiTimes , despite Apple’s orders for touch panels from iPhone and iPad 2 have considerably grown for the third quarter, the company is said to place orders at about half the price of previous orders. This initiative could mean that Apple either attempting to lower BOM thus increasing margins at the expense of manufacturers, or the company is preparing for cutting prices ahead of new devices releases. AT&T Will Start Offering LTE Devices On August 21
This week AT&T has that the sales of the first LTE devices, AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G and AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G, will start on August 21st. All customers will be able to utilize 5 gigabytes of data for $50 every month and after the limit will be exceeded 1 gigabyte of data will cost 10$. It is also known that AT&T USBConnect Adrenaline which is LTE-upgradeable will receive an update to LTE on August 26.
AT&T has also told about its plans to sell 4G LTE using five market places later this summer, which are situated in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. All customers with 4G LTE-consistent devices will have access to 4G LTE speeds as AT&T's 4G LTE service will be already available.

22 fake Apple stores were discovered in China
Recently Apple had investigated retail stores in the southwestern Chinese city of Kumming and 22 fake Apple shops. Reuters reports that Apple China accused them of violation of its trademarks and ordered stores to stop using the company’s logo.
The investigation began after one local American reported on fake Apple Stores in his blog, adding that they all looked very convincing and even stores personnel believed they have been working for Apple.

Lawsuit Regarding Location Data Collection Filed Against Apple in South Korea
Last month it was reported that a South Korean court ordered Apple to pay out compensation of one million won (about $946 at that time) to an iPhone user in a legal argument regarding collection of location data. Then it became known that the plaintiff’s lawyers were preparing to file a class-action lawsuit to obtain compensations for other user who claimed to have been harmed by the Apple’s collection.
iOS 5 Assistant Will Access Your Contacts, Calendars, E-mail
9to5mac recently new code files, related to the announced iOS5-wide voice-recognition app called Assistant. They allow to suggest that the app will be able to browse a user’s e-mail, address book, phone application, calendars and even to open links. However, this is only a suggestion since the code files may not be related to the final version of Assistant.

Non-iPad Tablet Makers Will Cut Prices Twice This Year
DigiTimes citing a source that sales of iPad rivals turned out to be lower than it was expected, and the demand for them from retail companies continues to drop sharply, so manufacturers of non-Apple tablets will have to cut prices for their devices as early as late September. According to the source, this is the only way for them to sell numerous devices in warehouses and minimize their losses.
iPad 3 Won’t Be Released This Year Due To Retina Display Issues
According to many rumors regarding Apple’s next-generation tablet, the iPad release was planned for later this year, and its first shipment had to be limited. However, as DigiTimes , citing Apple’s component suppliers, the company has canceled all orders for this year’s iPad 3 production, which means that iPad 3 won’t be put on sale until 2012.
Apple Increasing iPhone Production with iPhone 5 Ramp-Up
Digitimes suggests that Apple has increased the orders for their iPhone line by about 12-13% from 50 million units to 56 million units. The iPhone 5 in particular will reportedly account for 25.5-26 million units in the second half of 2011. In the 3rd garter the iPhone 5 orders have been decreased from 7 million units to 5.5-6 million units, but in the 4th quarter they have been raised from 14 million units to more then 20 million units. But Apple declines the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 orders from over 20 million in the 3rd quarter to 8 million in the 4th quarter. These numbers, however, are not surprisingly, because, if you look at the history sales graph, these times of the year do represent major jumps in sales for Apple.
Apple Testing IPhone With LTE Support?
As you know release of the next-generation iPhone is expected in September. It’s not clear yet whether this smartphone will support 4G transmission technology LTE (Long Term Evolution), but BGR that Apple and some mobile carrier in US have already tested iPhone models with LTE support.
Rumors: OS X Lion USB Sticks Will Go On Sale Sometime This Week
In early August it was reported that Apple plans to sell USB sticks with OS X Lion through AppleCare. Now, it is likely that Apple will release USB sticks this week at the price of $69 for the general public. As MR.X said, this USB stick has shown up in the internal system of the company for a release on August 15th – but it is not known for certain will Apple actually release this product on the 15th. But the fact that the product has shown up in the system suggests that the product’s launch will happen very soon.
