This Friday Judge Clifford Cretan from San Mateo County in California unsealed the affidavit of the lost iPhone prototype case. Cnet was first who studied the document and concluded that Steve Jobs personally called Gizmodo editor Brian Lam to return iPhone:
"Jobs requested that Lam return the phone to Apple. Lam responded via the e-mail address...that he would return the iPhone on the condition that Apple provided him with a letter stating the iPhone belonged to Apple."
Hours before we posted photos of another iPhone 4G prototype that were obtained by someone from Vietnamese forum Taoviet. It was revealed that device has a SoC with Apple A4 processor and 256 Megabytes of Samsung DRAM. According to iFixit, the marking "APL0398 339S0084" indicates the A4 processor, and "K4X2G643GE" goes for 256 Mb Samsung RAM.
"Our engineers are not surprised by this finding. We were very impressed by the extraordinarily low power consumption of the iPad, and remarked at the time that its power consumption and board design was much more in line with handheld devices than laptop computers."
So now we're sure that new prototype has the same hardware as in Apple's iPad. By the way, iPhone 3GS has also 256 Mb of DRAM.
It is also examined that the leaked device has a 16 GB capacity instead of Gizmodo's "XXGB", and there are no visible screws on its sites. The new iPhone has a micro-SIM port on its side. A video reveals that new device was turned on but it wasn't running the iPhone OS.
Here is a video of future iPhone 4G in addition to recently published photos.
ADR Studio, which is an Italian design firm, recently tried to create another "Apple style product" and called it iWatch. As you see, it's a new kind of watch with aluminum casing, 16 Gb capacity and ability to connect to any mobile iDevice via Bluetooth or Wi-fi. The idea of iWatch is that it should answer calls coming to iPhone in your pocket, and internet access should allow reading RSS feeds and even viewing photos and weather. There is also a pico projector built-in to project images and videos.
More photos are given below.

This app would not be mentioned on iPhoneroot if not a video found recently. Gigaputt for iPhone ($1.99) is created by Gigantic Mechanic and allows playing golf just anywhere. At first sight Gigaputt users look pretty foolish, though the app seems to be pretty interesting and fascinating. It supports Openfeint and Twitter/Facebook integration.
You can download it
As you remember, last week Steve Jobs posted a letter about his thoughts on Flash and that same day Adobe’s CEO commented on it. Sometime later chief technology officer Kevin Lynch also expressed his opinion on the situation:
"It's not about HTML5 vs. Flash. They're mutually beneficial. The more important question is the freedom of choice on the Web."
In the meantime, Instead of using plugin-based technologies like Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight, Apple created a new client-side framework Gianduia to produce quality online applications for retail users.

iPad USB Camera Connection Kit is much more useful as it seems. Max Sha, an experienced user, was able to access external hard drive with this kit. All you need is a jailbroken iPad, an external drive, a split-USB cable to give the drive some power and a terminal of some sort (f.e. MacBook) to mount the external storage. While it is a little unwieldy, it shows that Terabytes of external storage for iPad is possible.
Here is a complete step-by-step guide from Max Sha:
Okay, maybe iPad is not good as a skateboard, but maybe there will be more sense if it will be zapped in microwave?
Kenny Irwin, also known as dOvetastic, fries everything from gas masks to 1960s telephones in a professional grade microwave. Why? He thinks it's an art.
Recently he bought an iPad 3G 64 GB to make another test. The result may be seen on the 10-minute video above, was considered by YouTube as "may contain content inappropriate for some users".
How many more tests will be made to iPad to understand it's a hi-tech device and not a piece of metal alloy?
Chad Knight and Jeff King, who are professional skateboarders, purchased a brand-new Apple iPad and decided to check if it can replace the standard skateboard. Another crazy test - on the video above!
Latest information from several resources reveals that the third beta of iPhone OS 4 has an ability to capture video at 1280x720 resolution instead of the standard 640x480. That is confirmed with following preset values that were found in new API improvements:
It was long rumored that iPhone 4 will have 5MP camera, LED flash, another front-facing camera for making video conferences. IF the HD resolution will be supported indeed, iPhone's old alias "iPhone HD" will be finally confirmed.
The Berkeley hotel in London now offers its guests... an iPad! It will be proposed only to those clients who will stay in certain suites during their visit. It is supposed that iPad will be able to suggest places for visit and help to plan an itinerary.
"From Le Monde to the Wall Street Journal, your local newspaper will be available at breakfast and quickly checking the opening times of Christian Louboutin on Motcomb Street has never been more convenient. A wide range of games, videos and comic books is available for children and our experienced Concierge team has created their personal Top 5 of must-visit places – shops, exhibitions, local attractions and some hidden gems – which are clearly mapped so that you can plan your itinerary."
If you're going to visit London and would like to stay in Berkeley you should take into account that the night spent in this hotel will cost you $2804.
The picture above reveals that World of Warcraft was launched on the iPad. We don't know does it work correctly because there is no video yet, but there is information that the game was launched via Gaikai.
Gaikai is a service that allows you to play games in a browser, directly from the cloud. The scheme is pretty simple - the service runs and hosts the games and then streams it to the user using Silverlight, Java or Flash. As you know, iPad doesn't support Flash but somehow WoW works through Gaikai.
Gaikai and its competitors (OnLive and OTOY) are still in beta, but when it'll reach maturity there is a big chance to successfully use it for playing graphically intensive games on different devices including iPad.
Finally the jailbreak for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch from the Dev Team is available for download. It's free and untethered and it's called "Spirit". The jailbreak supports every iDevice with firmware version 3.1.2, 3.1.3 or 3.2.
Wow! Hours after iPad 3G sales launch and it has already been jailbroken! Below is a video of MuscleNerd where jailbroken iPad 3G runs Cydia.
MuscleNerd used the jailbreak called "Spirit". It's a tool that makes untethered unlock of iPad, iPod Touch 3G and iPhone 3GS and DevTeam promises it will be available soon. Stay tuned for further instructions how to save your SHSH Blobs and then use Spirit to jailbreak your device.
