How to Fix Facebook for iPhone 3.2
Facebook for iPhone 3.2 was released last night and now it supports the newly created function “Places”, background downloading of photos and videos in iOS 4, together with other visual enhancements, such as “pull-to-refresh” for the iPhone. However, for many users, this new version was mostly broken, with the following error “Unable to load the page” on most of its pages. Yes, and if you try to uninstall and reinstall the application, it simply refuses to “Log in”.
As it turned out, this problem occurs on jailbroken iPhones for those users who have installed the application BiteSMS from Cydia. The new Facebook application for iPhone 3.2 is not compatible with the current version of BiteSMS. So if you have installed this application, removing it from Cydia, you’ll solve this problem, at least it really helped some of the users.
We hope that the new version of BiteSMS will be released pretty soon and will be compatible with this new version of Facebook for iPhone.
Justin Long Has a Jailbroken iPhone
During Jimmy Kimmel’s live show Justin Long picked up his iPhone to share some interesting SMS he had. Meanwhile he also showed Cydia on his iPhone’s main screen. For those of you who do not know anything about this man, Justin Long is the very guy who starred in the most popular and successful commercials called “Get a Mac” by Apple, which appeared between 2006-2009 years.
Now that he no longer works with Apple, he is not afraid to break the rules of his former employer. By the way, today jailbreaking is fully legal in the USA, is not it?

For those of you who do not know, CineXPlayer is an iPad application that allows you to download Xvid AVI files using iTunes, so you can easily reproduce the format that Apple won’t. Because the developer has not invented version of the application for the iPhone, the hacker decided to do everything by himself.
It is a complete step by step tutorial on how to install it on your iPhone or iPod touch available . You just need to jailbreak these devices, because the process involves SSH (SSH program for secure file sharing on the network) to access the iPhone, but it’s worth it if you want to get it right now!

RedSn0w is able to jailbreak iOS 4.1 beta 2

MuscleNerd tweeted today that the recent redsn0w utility is able to jailbreak the iOS 4.1 beta2 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. This is useful for developers only, however good news for everyone.
Here’s some info from the DevTeam wiki page:
How to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3G with firmware iOS 4.0.1

There is no official jailbreak utility for iOS 4.0.1. However you can still jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3G. Just do the following:
- Download the latest RedSn0w 0.9.5-b5 in our utilities page here.
- Download firmware images for iOS 4.0 here.
- Run RedSn0w and point it at the 4.0 IPSW. (Yes – point it at the 4.0 IPSW even though you’re at 4.0.1). This will also hacktivate your iPhone3G at 4.0.1 if you haven’t already been activated by iTunes.
- Install ultrasn0w in Cydia (add repository http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com) if you need a carrier unlock (and in the USA, remember to turn off 3G mode in Settings→General→Network).
Here’s what hackers say about new firmware iOS 4.0.1
Here’s what hackers tweeted about new Apple firmwares 4.0.1 for iPhones and 3.1.2 for iPad:
As with *any* new FW, jailbreakers + unlockers must avoid this upcoming 4.1 update until our tools are updated
3GS, ipt3G, iPhone4 users (regardless of current FW or JB status) should backup 4..0 SHSH blobs http://is.gd/dskh9 soon
Obviously avoid today’s 4.0.1 update until JB tools are updated. Luckily, no baseband change so ultrasn0w lives on
each FW version has unique blobs. But using http://is.gd/dskh9 you can get 4.0 blobs on PC while you stay at 3.1.2
Hah for those iPhone3G or ipt2g(non-MC) users at 4.1beta1: use redsn0w from 2 wks ago to JB http://is.gd/dstU3

RedSn0w 0.9.5 Beta4 can jailbreak iOS 4.0 GM
Apple recentrly released new version of iPhone OS 4. it is called iOS 4.0 GM. Here is an update from DevTeam about iOS 4 jailbreak:
For those who can legitimately activate to the iPhone3G 4.0GM seed, the “point to previous IPSW” redsn0w trick works and will jailbreak your 4.0GM. The “trick” is to point redsn0w at the 4.0beta4 IPSW instead of 4.0GM (do this after you’ve updated to 4.0GM and activated through the new iTunes 9.2 on your Mac). Since the carrier unlocks aren’t yet supported at 4.0, don’t do this if you use yellowsn0w/ultrasn0w/blacksn0w. Many JB apps are still pretty buggy in 4.0, so again this is mostly useful only for developers of those JB apps.
Note: If you’re experiencing MobileSafari crashes, double check that you’re running the version at the bottom of this page.
For those without legit iPhone3G 4.0GM seed access, please wait until the full public 4.0 release for updates to the jailbreak tools.
You can download redsn0w 0.9.5.b4 here.

Redsnow 0.9.5.b4 for iPhone Os 4.0 Beta 4 Released
Last week Apple has released its iPhone Os 4.0 beta 4 and redsn0w is finally updated to support this as well as beta 1. New version of jailbreak is 0.9.5.b4 and it can be applied on iPhone 3G only(!).
Redsn0w 0.9.5.b4 is targeted at developers who make jailbroken apps, and will not work if you are already using blacksn0w, ultrasn0w or yellowsn0w.
iPhone Dev-Team warns:
“You should stay clear of this beta software if you rely on a carrier unlock.”
To use the jailbreak, follow the guide below:
- Download redsn0w 0.9.5.b4 here. (Only Mac OS X version since app are developed on this OS).
- Make sure you have already activated your iPhone 3G with iTunes and your own developer ID.
- Launch the jailbreak.
- Select your stock iPhone1,2_4.0_8A274b_Restore.ipsw (beta4) or iPhone1,2_4.0_8A230m_Restore.ipsw (beta1) file that you used to update your firmware.
- Choose “Install Cydia” and then click “Next”. Use DFU mode to install the redsn0w.
- When your iPhone 3G comes back up, you will notice Cydia has a blank white icon. It also has no sources so you should go to the Sources panel and add this repo: http://apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 (make sure you are connected to the Internet before). When Cydia restarts, you should see its real logo now, and the standard sources should be ready to use.

BlackRa1n-fix For iTunes 9.1 Is Released
Yesterday iTunes update was found to have issues with those of iPod Touches and iPhones that were tethered jailbroken with blackRa1n. If you have one of these, you will be unable to rejailbreak your device after rebooting it with blackra1n. The problem is being experienced only by Windows users. iH8Sn0w has an explanation:
“Blackra1n hooks to the dll that has different offsets of what it is actually looking for”.
