'iPhone 5' appears to adopt internal design elements from iPhone 3GS
According to a report by RepairLabs, Apple's sixth generation iPhone components appear to be reverting back to some design elements of the iPhone 3GS. New photos of the iPhone 5 depict the metal brackets that "suggest that it will be sitting into a housing, similar to a 3GS, but more updated and modern."
Video Shows Completely Redesigned Headphones for iPhone 5
Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn posted the video, showing what is allegedly a totally redesigned pair of Apple in-ear headphones. The site also notes that the product will likely be introduced either alongside the sixth-generation iPhone. The site claims that the new headphones are manufactured in Vietnam in a Foxconn plant as cable labeling reads "Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Vietnam." The in-ear unit is somewhat a departure from current earphone models from Apple, featuring a truncated teardrop shape that is supposedly more comfortable than the gratis set supplied with the iPhone.

Hands On with a Physical Mockup of the iPhone 5
GSM Israel posted a video of a physical mock-up of the iPhone 5. The device in the video appears fairly similar to the dozens of earlier leaked enclosures said to represent the new iPhone. GSM Israel says it stumbled upon the device at the booth of a third party accessory maker during its normal tour of the IFA show floor in Berlin on Saturday. The physical mockup was created by a case manufacturer to test early case designs on the upcoming iPhone.
Next-Generation iPhone 5 To Include A6 Processor?
Many photos of parts claimed to be for iPhone 5 have surfaced during the past few months, but the component of the most interest, main processor package, has yet to be seen.
Several photos of the next iPhone’s logic board have appeared in recent weeks, but the presence of the shielding on the component and low quality of the images have left the identities of the processors on the component unknown.
Next-Generation iPhone 5 Will Not Use NFC Technology
After Apple announced its new Passbook functionality for iOS 6, speculation related to the possibility of using NFC (near field communications) technology in the iPhone 5 has ramped up. This technology would allow users to make contactless payments through the Passbook digital wallet. Rumors about NFC technology for the iPhone 5 got another boost after photos of the next iPhone’s front panel surfaced revealing an unknown feature that, according to Japanese blog Macotakara, may be the part of the device’s NFS system.

Apple may launch next-gen iPhone, 'iPad mini' at two separate media events
Jim Dalrymple, the well-known Apple journalist, reported in his blog on Thursday that Apple may be preparing to debut a next-gen iPhone and 'iPad mini' at two separate media events. Apple is widely expected to debut the sixth-generation iPhone at a special event on September 12, at which time pre-orders are said to begin. Further rumors point to a U.S. rollout starting September 21. Almost nothing is known of the iPad mini. Different report suggests that the smaller iPad will debut at either the same iPhone event or at a later date.

MacRumors reports that photos of what could be the 'iPhone 5' logic board with its shielding removed have been posted online by Sina.com.

Video Compares Black and White iPhone 5 Glass Panels to iPhone 4S
SmartPhoneMedic has posted a video comparing leaked black and white 'iPhone 5' glass panels to the iPhone 4S.
As you can see, the iPhone 5 front glass panel is slightly taller than the current iPhone 4/4S. However, it still remains the same width. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S III, the iPhone 5 will have a smaller display area in both width and height. We're not sure why Apple decided to only make it taller and not wider, but I'm sure Mr. Cook will explain it at the upcoming Apple Event. The other major component is the 8-pin dock connector. It does look like Apple has moved away from their traditional 30-pin dock connector to a new, and much smaller, 8-pin dock connector. It is still unknown if they will provide some type of adapter for those out there with 30-pin dock connector accessories. It will be very interesting to see how Apple handles this issue.

A Closer Look at Apple's Next-Generation 'Unibody' iPhone Design
Industrial designer Don Lehman has analyzed the leaked photos of the rumored iPhone 5 unibody design that should make the device stronger, lighter, and thinner than previous models, using a high-quality, thin metal shell wherever possible on the back of the device.
With the iPhone needing to send and receive Wi-Fi, cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, and perhaps NFC signals, Lehman notes that Apple redesigned the antenna system in order to push the antennas to the top and bottom portions of the stainless steel band wrapping around the device and avoid the "Antennagate" controversy that first took place with the iPhone 4. Lehman notes that even the bosses where screws for other components will attach are machined out of the single rear shell piece, increasing strength while reducing thickness and weight.
