Apple Sold Over Five Million iPhone 5 In Opening Weekend

Samsung Is Going To Add iPhone 5 To Its U.S. Patent Suit
As Reuters , a new Samsung’s court filing has revealed that the company is going to add Apple’s iPhone 5 to a suit that is now underway in the U.S. seeking to ban sales of Apple’s devices in the country over violation of its patent rights. Reuters said:

HIS iSuppi has its estimate of the cost of iPhone 5’s bill of materials (BOM), which they made based on industry knowledge and information disclosed by Apple. The estimate, which doesn’t include many other costs associated with manufacturing, sales and product development, pegs the bill of materials of the entry-level iPhone 5 with 16 GB at $199. Analyst Expects iPhone 5 Sales Will Hit 8 Million Units In Opening Weekend
Following Apple announcement made earlier today that it received two million pre-orders for new iPhone in the first day of its availability, analyst from Piper Jaffray Gene Munster has issued a new research note forecasting that Apple will sale from 6 to 10 million units during the launch weekend. He bases his estimates on impressive pre-order numbers and comparison with last year’s pre-orders for the iPhone 4S. He noted:

iPhone 5 preorders to start on September 14th
Rumors say that pre-orders for the next generation iPhone 5 are reportedly set to begin the morning of Friday, September 14th, according to MacRumors:
MacRumors is now hearing that pre-orders may not begin tomorrow following the media event and that they may instead start on Friday morning in a scenario similar to last year's debut. We're hearing that certain portions of Apple's online sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning at 6:00 AM Eastern on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day.
Last year, the iPhone 4S was set to begin pre-orders at 12:01 AM Pacific Time the Friday following the Apple's media event.
So users are given an extra couple of days to get the money together.
Apple Will Be Only Supplier of New Dock Connector Adapter
iLounge that Apple will be the only supplier of its new adapter for the next iPhone that will allow the new device to be used with 30-pin dock connectors. Reportedly Apple will sell these adapters for $10 each or $29 for three pieces. However, it is also possible that the company will allow third parties to manufacture such adapters at a later date.

The Verge Apple’s list which includes ban requests for Galaxy S 2 for AT&T, Galaxy S 4G, Samsung Skyrocket, Galaxy S Showcase, Galaxy S2 Epic 4G, Galaxy Prevail, the S2 on T-Mobile and Droid Charge.

Apple And Samsung’s CEOs Today Will Discuss Patent Dispute
According to Bloomberg’s , today Samsung CEO Kwon Oh Hyun and Apple CEO Tim Cook will have a phone conversation ahead of jury deliberations scheduled to begin this week. Bloomberg reports that lawyers of two companies will report to Judge Lucy Koh on the outcome of today’s phone discussion. The report notes:
