Survey Reveals that the iPhone 5s Takes Nearly 64% of Apple's Smartphone Sales
You probably know that the new Apple’s flagship - iPhone 5s - is currently outselling its plastic counterpart - iPhone 5c. According to a poll, conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) in September, the 5s has taken nearly 70% of Apple's overall smartphone sales.

According to Crittercism (via ), applications crash twice as often on the iPhone 5s than on the plastic iPhone 5c or even on the last-year iPhone 5. Surprisingly, this is all due to the flagship’s new 64-bit processor, which debuted in September. The apps running on the 5s have a crash rate of nearly 2%, while those on the iPhone 5 and 5c’s 32-bit chip - of about 1%.
Apple to Unveil New iPads on October 22nd?
According to AllThingsD, Apple will officially unveil its new iPad 5 and probably a redesigned iPad mini with Retina display on Tuesday, October 22nd. The site experts claim that the media event can take place either at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts or at Apple's Town Hall auditorium.
The fifth generation iPad is expected to feature a thinner, lighter design akin to the iPad mini’s and an improved camera. It will run Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip. The second-generation iPad mini will be upgraded with a retina display and also see the A7 incorporated into its innards. It’s not clear whether Apple’s new iPads will feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that recently debuted on the iPhone 5s, though that has been rumored.
Apple hasn’t neither confirmed, nor denied the information about new products’ launch yet.

According to information provided by llThingsD, some sources close to mobile carriers claim that the stock of the iPhone 5s will be very low during its launch on Friday, September 20th.
Sources at multiple U.S. carriers said that the inventory of the new phone is significantly less than expected.
“We will have grotesquely unavailable inventory,” was how one carrier source put it.
Another carrier confirmed 'extremely disappointing shipments' from Apple. However, it was stated that the demand for the iPhone 5s is likely to be slightly lower than expected. It seems the bright colors of the low-cost iPhone 5c have captured eyes of customers.
The new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will start selling in stores on September 20th at 8:00 a.m.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has provided us with some more details on a new fingerprint scanner embedded to the iPhone 5S. What Apple says is that the data will be encrypted and secured inside of the iPhone’s new A7 processor.
Apple gets license that allows iPhone launch in China
According to WSJ, Apple has obtained the final license essential for the launch of iPhone on China Mobile's network standard.
According to the website of China's Telecom Equipment Certification Center Wednesday, Apple was given a "network access license" for a handset resembling the iPhone that runs on the mobile standards used by China Mobile for third and fourth generation cellular services. Other licenses were given to Apple for handsets running the technology used by both China Unicom and China Telecom.
The approval means that Apple is most likely to introduce the iPhone on China Mobile, the world's largest cellular carrier with 700 million subscribers.

What iPhone 5S Home button might look like
