Apple Granted Patent for Docking Station with Flexible Connector





Apple has been recently granted a patent for a brand new docking station for smartphones and tablets with a flexible connector inside, which makes the whole mechanism more durable and easy to use. The patent is entitled “Dock connector with compliance mechanism” and its number is 8.986.029. Apple TV to Be Updated with New Processor, Siri and More This Year



According to what people familiar with the matter write, at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference scheduled for June, the guys from Cupertino plan to announce a new Apple TV set-top box. The new media device will reportedly boast of Apple’s A8 processor and a big amount of internal storage. Apart from that, the sources claim Apple will add Siri to its next-generation set-top box and create a special App Store version with applications for Apple TV. SDK for developers to create apps will become available this summer as well.

Apple Gets Patent for Brand New Mac Keyboard



Apple on Thursday was granted a patent for “Method and Apparatus for Localization of “Haptic Feedback”. In other words, this is the document, which describes a brand new type of a Mac keyboard with a touch-sensitive flat surface similar to the one Magic Trackpad has. Physical keys on this keyboard are replaced with virtual ones. Their work is based on the technology nearly identical to Force Touch that debuted in the Apple Watch and the trackpad of Apple’s new 12-inch MacBook.

Apple Releases Third OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Beta to Developers



Apart from seeding the third iOS 8.3 beta to developers, the guys from Cupertino released the third beta of OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on Thursday. The release came just a week after the release of the first public OS X 10.10.3 beta and about a month after the release of the very first beta of this version of Apple’s operating system for desktops.

Apple Releases Third iOS 8.3 Beta to Developers for Testing



The guys from Cupertino on Thursday seeded the third iOS 8.3 beta to developers for testing. The release came about two weeks after the release of the second iOS 8.3 beta, which could boast of new emoji picker, better CarPlay connectivity, the support of Google’s two step verification, new Siri languages and a number of other performance and stability improvements. New beta became available for Apple’s developers just several days after the public release of iOS 8.2, which could bo the official release of iOS 8.2 that featured the support of the Apple Watch.

13-inch MacBook Air SSD is Faster than 11-inch MacBook Air SSD



As you already know, Apple on Monday released slightly refreshed 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models. While both laptops got the same processor and graphics, the larger-screened model was also equipped with a new flash storage that is said to be "up to two times faster" than the flash storage inside of the 11-inch device. iFixit team decided to find out, whether the guys from Cupertino told us the truth about the speed of the SSD. Apple Watch to Boast of 2GB of Memory for Music and 75MB for Photos



According to what people familiar with the matter write, the recently-released Apple Watch can indeed boast of 8GB of internal storage. However, only 2GB will be available to store music and 75MB - to store photos on the wearable device. The multimedia content can be synced using the companion app for the iPhone. After user sends the songs and images he wants to his Apple Watch, he will get an opportunity to access them even when the connection with the smartphone is lost.

Samsung Announces Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge



Samsung has just announced its two new flagships, namely, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. This happened at the annual conference called Mobile World Congress. Both devices are thinner and lighter than their predecessors, moreover, they feature new metal and glass bodies, better cameras and serious hardware improvements. And yes, in terms of design, they look very similar to the iPhone 6.

Apple Announces Its Financial Results in Fiscal Q1 of 2015



Just like it was expected, Apple on Tuesday, January 27th, officially announced its financial results in the first quarter of fiscal 2015. According to the official data shared by the guys from Cupertino, the revenue for the holiday quarter amounted to $74.6 billion and the net profit - to $18 billion. Apart from that, Apple sold 74.5 million iPhone units, up from 51 million in the year-ago quarter. As to the iPad sales, they were down from 26 million units sold in the Q1 of fiscal 2014 and accounted for 21.4 million units.

Apple Sold More iPhones in China Than in America in Fiscal Q1 2015?



As you probably know, Apple is expected to announce its financial results in the first fiscal quarter of 2015 on Tuesday, January 27th. Today, a new report has been released by the Financial Times reporters, which suggests that the guys from Cupertino may have sold more iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units in China than in the USA in the last quarter. This happened for the first time in the history of the company. Still, it should be noted that the report is based on the analysts' estimates and rumors, that is why I suggest that you should take it with a few pinches of salt.

Microsoft Announces New Version of Its Operating System - Windows 10
