Three Foxconn Employees Arrested for Leaking iPad 2 Design
Before the release of the iPad 2 various Chinese and Taiwanese sources provided us with several “leaked” case designs that gave us indication of what the device would look like. These cases were all based on the same design principles such as tapered edges, thinner body and flat back, clearly suggesting manufacturers had access to the same design documents that were quickly spreading across the tech industry.
Several online shopping retailers in China were able to sell iPad 2′s protective case products before the iPad 2 was even launched, leading Foxconn to suspect that there might have been some employees leaking the design of iPad 2 which it reported to the local police.
Next iPhone with larger screen revealed
M.I.C. Gadget posts two images of the co-called “iPhone 4S” - an iPhone they’re pretty sure isn’t an iPhone 4, but possibly an updated model that includes a 3.7″ display, and the same proximity sensor as the white iPhone 4. The new display is nearly edge-to-edge. The photos show us the new screen to be slightly taller and slightly wider. If the image is legitimate, it appears to be closer to 3.7 inches than 4 inches. M.I.C. Gadget also speculates that it may have an A5 processor (a prototype model) that game developers are using to build games. Strings in iOS 4.3 revealed that the iPhone was slated to receive the updated processor, and recently a white iPhone was rumored being tested on T-Mobile’s network packing an A5 processor.

US Privacy Investigation Targeting Smartphone App Developers
Federal prosecutors in New Jersey have started investigation concerning the issue with illegal obtaining and transmitting data from users their consent or knowledge through various smartphone applications. The prosecutors are investigating whether various applications on smartphones such as the iPhone and various Android phones are not notifying users what data is being collected and why such data is required by the application. As far as we know, in the United States it’s prohibited for IT companies to collect any information about user without notice. The Wall Street Journal tested 101 applications and discovered that 56 of those transmitted the unique identification number for the device without letting users know, 47 transmitted the phones location and 5 sent a users age, gender and other personal information.
Teardowns Detail Minor Differences Among Wi-Fi, GSM, and CDMA iPad 2 Models

iPad 2 antenna: GSM (top), CDMA (middle), and Wi-Fi (bottom)
iFixit announced that they completed the teardowns of the GSM and CDMA models of iPad 2. Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 was torn down on launch day. The GSM model has the micro-SIM card slot along the upper left edge to provide the device with subscriber information. On the CDMA version such information stores directly on the WWAN board inside. The CDMA iPad offer slightly different antenna configurations, it has an additional antenna and an integrated GPS receiver. What’s really curious is that the 3G version of iPad 2 has the older Infineon 337Se833 baseband chip rather than a dual-mode Gobi chip found inside the CDMA iPad 2. Maybe it was a supply issue or an engineering decision designed to cut costs a bit.

Microphone Differences Found Between Wi-Fi and 3G iPad 2 Models

iPad 2 microphones: 3G (top) vs. Wi-Fi (bottom)
iLounge found out that the microphones on Wi-Fi and 3G models of iPad 2 have differences in quality of sound. The best sound quality was demonstrated by the Wi-Fi model. It might be caused by the fact that the mic on the Wi-Fi model is on an aluminum surface while on 3G is on the black plastic. The differences are most noticeable when the iPad is held facing the user, for example, when using FaceTime or other video applications.
Perhaps due to this change in materials, the Wi-Fi model offers markedly cleaner audio than that of the 3G, which sounds slightly muffled and echo-prone as a result. Curiously, we found the GSM 3G model's audio to be slightly preferable to that of the CDMA model, which seemed to suffer the issues more severely.
In the previous model of iPad the microphone located next to the headphone jack on the top edge but in iPad 2 Apple decided to place it in the center. Though, it seems that such change does Apple more harm than good.
iOS 4.3 Requires Password Reentry for In App Purchases

Apple’s new iOS 4.3 includes change that requires reentry of your iTunes Store password to make in-app purchases, even if the user had just entered the password to download the application. That change was made to address concerns over incidents when children managed to pay lots of money for games and prevent children without knowledge of the device's iTunes Store password from accessing in app purchase content.
Parents had complained to the The Post that in the 15-minute period after an app was downloaded, children were buying sometimes hundreds of dollars of purchases on games such as Smurfs’ Village and Tap Zoo — popular iTunes games that are also among the highest-grossing programs for in-app purchases.
iPhone 5 Design Images with Larger Edge-to-Edge Screen

We just got what appears to be mold engineering drawings for iPhone 5. These would be used by case designers to create plastic, TPU, aluminum, silicone and leather cases. A while back we hear rumors that iPhone 5 would have a curved back but these images show iPhone 5 with the same form factor as iPhone 4 but with an edge to edge screen.

iPad 2 photos from Chinese site

Here is a iPad 2 photo gallery. These photos were published Chinese site. We don't know if it's a real iPad 2. Let's take a look:
Recent iPhone 5 bezel photos are fake
There were nice rumors showing future iPhone 5 bazel. The photo claimed new iPhone 5 display will be larger and the edge of the bazel will be thinner. Unfortunately this photo was fake.
Nowhereelse.fr has done some analysis on the image finding replication of artifacts and incorrect lines of perspective:
Another Leaked Case Suggests iPad 2 Will Simply Be Called ‘iPad’, Comes with Rear Camera Hole
A new leather case for the next-generation iPad appeared on German website Macerkopf.de. Design of the leaked case confirms all rumors about tapered edges, thinner design, rear-facing camera and flat back, but also provides some details on the actual name of the “iPad 2”. The terms iPad 2 was used by journalists and bloggers for indication of the second-generation iPad. That case comes with packaging with a simple label “For the new iPad” that might mean that iPad 2 will actually be called simply iPad.
It is also noteworthy to say that current iPhone 4 accessories don’t come with labels like “Made for the iPhone 4″. Instead, Apple went for a simple “Made for iPhone” that doesn’t point to the “iPhone 4” name in any way.
