iPad app library now has more than 10,000 titles

ipad10k.001

New reports made by Mac Stories and PadGadget reveal new data on App Store. Here are the most interesting facts:

  1. Over 2,100 titles in the Apple's App Store are iPad games;
  2. 78% of all iPad apps are paid (which is almost equal to 80% value of previous Moblix report);
  3. Almost 75% of all 225,000 iPhone apps are also paid;
  4. 2,5 months needed for iPad apps library to reach the 10,000 milestone (For comparison, it took five months for iPhone apps and 11 months for Google's Android Market to get the same result).
  5. Currently iPad apps store is the third biggest after iPhone and official Android apps store.
  6. RIM's BlackBerry App World, Nokia's Symbian platform and HP's Palm/webOS have less than 7,000 apps.

It is important to note that Google currently forbids putting Android Market on non-smartphone devices, so there is no opportunity to compare the actual numbers of Android and iPad apps.

Hulu Comes to iPad

hulu-logo

New report published by Reuters reveals that Hulu is finally coming to the iPad and a bunch of other non-PC devices.

Unfortunately, there is little information other than that, but previous rumors indicated that the service will be subscription-based for those who want to have an access to a library of older content, and a library of newer episodes and randoms will be free.

It is likely that Hulu for the Xbox 360 console will be presented at next week's E3 gaming expo.

As you remember Hulu is a service that offers commercial-supported streaming video of movies and TV shows for users in the U.S.

AT&T servers had been hacked

att_applelogo-299x300

A group of hackers found a security flaw on the web servers of AT&T and after obtaining users’ 3G iPad SIM addresses (also known as ICC ID) from the web made an automated script attack to receive their email addresses.

According to Gawker report, now hacked users may "be vulnerable to spam marketing and malicious hacking". SIM addresses are easy enough to obtain, because many people have already posted their ICC ID numbers in photos published on Flickr for instance. But most of them have their e-mails published too, so it is likely that they have already received such spam.

Apple Will Additionally Pay Foxconn Employees

iphone-factory1

According to Zol.com.cn, which is a Chinese news site owned by CBS, Apple is going to assign 1-2% of its product profits to Foxconn workers.

As we wrote before, Apple decided to investigate the case about suicides at Foxconn plant, and recently found out that employees become unhappy because of low wages. The company sees the way of solving the problem in increasing wages for workers. The additional money will come directly from the profits of those of the products that are assembled there.

Workers who take part in the production of iPad will be first to receive the increased pay. Report reveals that currently Foxconn receives 2.3% of the iPad's total price.

Earlier Foxconn also claimed about its decision to give 20% more wage for its workers.

It is known, that entry-level employees who work at the factory in Longhua receive only $131,80 per month of work. To earn more, they usually sign special "voluntary overtime affidavits".
