Steve Jobs sticks to his style, and so Apple’s Special Event revealed to us some quite interesting figures. First of all, the impressive number of all iOS devices sold to this day – it’s 120,000,000. Astonishingly, it took Apple 3 years (from June’07 to June’10) to reach 100,000,000, and the last 20,000,000 came in just 3 months. Jobs also boasted that Apple were activating 230,000 new devices per day.

iTunes 10 Now Available to Download

itunes

The next version of iTunes includes Ping, a social music discovery tool that allows users to follow friends and artists, helping customers to discover and share new music. The product is based on discovery, allowing users to see what their friends are listening to and what concerts they're going to. Users can choose to "follow" artists, as well as their friends, and iTunes will populate a customized top 10 list that represents what their friends are downloading. Users can also see concerts that are coming near them, and inform their friends that they will be attending.

iTunes 10 will also ship with a new logo, which Jobs joked reflects the fact that by next Spring, Apple is expected to surpass all CD sales in the U.S. The new iTunes logo dispenses of the CD that was previously featured, and only includes a musical note.

The 82mb file can be downloaded at apple.com/itunes/download/

How to Fix Facebook for iPhone 3.2

FixFacebookforiPhone3.2ProblemFacebook for iPhone 3.2 was released last night and now it supports the newly created function "Places", background downloading of photos and videos in iOS 4, together with other visual enhancements, such as "pull-to-refresh" for the iPhone. However, for many users, this new version was mostly broken, with the following error "Unable to load the page" on most of its pages. Yes, and if you try to uninstall and reinstall the application, it simply refuses to "Log in".

As it turned out, this problem occurs on jailbroken iPhones for those users who have installed the application BiteSMS from Cydia. The new Facebook application for iPhone 3.2 is not compatible with the current version of BiteSMS. So if you have installed this application, removing it from Cydia, you’ll solve this problem, at least it really helped some of the users.

We hope that the new version of BiteSMS will be released pretty soon and will be compatible with this new version of Facebook for iPhone.

Play Xvid AVI Videos on iPhone and iPod Touch Right Now!

VerizoniPhone4Can not wait for the official release? Do you want to get CineXPlayer for iPad on your iPhone and iPod touch right now? For those of you who do not know, CineXPlayer is an iPad application that allows you to download Xvid AVI files using iTunes, so you can easily reproduce the format that Apple won’t. Because the developer has not invented version of the application for the iPhone, the hacker decided to do everything by himself.

It is a complete step by step tutorial on how to install it on your iPhone or iPod touch available here. You just need to jailbreak these devices, because the process involves SSH (SSH program for secure file sharing on the network) to access the iPhone, but it's worth it if you want to get it right now!

New Box.net Apps Now Allow Offline Access To Its Service

boxnet

Today iPhone and iPad Box.net apps were upgraded and now allow saving necessary files for offline access, which means that with a new version you can use Box.net services even if no Internet connection available. When collaborator makes changes to documents on any of the Box platforms, previously saved files may be synchronized with its updated versions. The update also includes iOS4 support, high-res graphics and fast app switching.

One of the Box.net's co-founders Aaron Levi said that the investments in the mobile strategy are caused by several facts. First of all, the increasing number of business tasks may be now performed on mobile devices and everybody should take it into account. Besides that the service's competitors like Microsoft Sharepoint haven't yet created strong mobile offerings, which is a chance for Box.net to increase its share on this market.

At the moment iPhone and iPad apps that implement Box.net services have been downloaded 150 000 times. Levie said that up next are Blackberry and Android apps.
