Apple Increased the Shipping Time of 11.6-inch MacBook Air
As you remember, last week Apple released new lineup of MacBook Airs, which are now available for order on the company's site. At the start every model had been shipped within 24 hours.
But from this day Apple shows shipping time for new orders of the $999 11.6-inch MacBook Air from 1 to 3 business days, which leads to a thought that the demand for the entry-level Apple's netbook has been very high in the first days of sales.

Apple not buying Sony, Facebook, Disney, AT&T, Google, Australia, etc.
Recently quite controversial rumors appeared in the Internet. They claim that Apple is going to acquire Sony, and even Facebook. But the company probably isn’t buying Sony, Facebook, or Disney, or Google, AT&T and etc. Apple isn’t going to spend its huge money, because the company isn’t even interested in manufacturing, social networking, and studio plays. We may only suppose that these rumors probably started after Steve Jobs said Apple is saving their $51 billion bank account for making 1 or 2 strategic acquisitions in the future.

Apple Is Rumored to Acquire Sony
Barron's rumor that Apple may be considering an acquisition of Sony, which appeared last Saturday, has gained more steam. According to Reuters, today the stocks of an electronic giant raised up to 3% at one point.
Analysts are skeptical on whether the rumors may be true as Apple can only execute a hostile takeover which will lower its reputation and lead to negative consequences on the Japanese market.

New 11.6- and 13.3 inch MacBook Airs Are Finally Unveiled
Few hours ago Steve Jobs presented two new MacBook Airs, which became the result of hooking up the iPad and a MacBook (according to his words). They have neither hard nor optical drive, as they keep all the data on the solid state drive. Here is how Steve Jobs explained such an innovation:
"MacBook Air is the first of a new generation of notebooks that leaves behind mechanical rotating storage in favor of solid state flash storage. We’ve taken what we have learned with the iPad—solid state storage, instant-on, amazing battery standby time, miniaturization and lightweight construction, to create the new MacBook Air. With its amazing responsiveness and mobility, it will change the way we think about notebooks."

Resuming the Apple's Q4 conference call
For those who have no time or desire to read the entire transcript of Steve Jobs’ Apple Q4 Earnings Call, here are the most interesting facts he revealed during the speech.
- Apple has sold 14.1 million iPhones, 3.89 million Macs (2,6 million notebooks and 1,29 million desktops) and 4.19 million iPads for the last quarter.
- The total profit in fourth fiscal period is $4,46 billion.
The Complete Transcript of Steve Jobs' Apple Q4 Earnings Call
Here's the Apple CEO in his own words talking during Apple Q4 Earnings Call:
Hi, everybody. As most of you know, I don’t usually participate in Apple earnings calls, since you’re all in such capable hands with Peter and Tim. But I just couldn’t help dropping by for our first 20-billion-dollar quarter. I’d like to chat about a few things, and then stay for the rest of the Q&A, if that’s all right.
First, let me discuss iPhone. We sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter, which represents a 91 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter, and was well ahead of IDC’s latest published estimate of 64 percent growth for the global smartphone market in the September quarter. And it handily beats RIM’s 12.1 million BlackBerrys sold, in their most recent quarter ending in August.
Apple "Back to the Mac" Event Oct. 20: New OS X and MacBook Air?
It is reported that Apple issued invitations for "Back to the Mac" special media event to be held next Wednesday, October 20th at the company's campus in Cupertino, California. This time the invitation contains an image of a lion peeking out from behind the Apple logo. It conveys the suggestion that Apple is going to seed a new Mac OS X 10.7. The next-generation operating system is commonly suggested being named as “Lion”. Also it is expected that the company's media event may focus on notebooks if new hardware is included on the agenda. Apple has refreshed at least a portion of its notebook line each October or November for the last several years.

Firmware Updates Address Charging Issues With 2007-2008 MacBooks
Yesterday Apple released a pair of firmware updates for the 2007-2008 MacBook and MacBook Pro models. These updates should solve the problems connecting with fact that machines not charging properly when used with the new "L-shaped" MagSafe power adapters. Apple redesigned the MagSafe adapter in early 2010. The new adapter routes the power cable back instead of jutting out perpendicular to the machine. Apple initially used the "L-shaped" MagSafe adapter for the MacBook Air, as its slimmer profile and cord orientation enabled the connector to fit the notebook's form factor without hindering its ability to rest on flat surfaces.
MacBook Air Supplies Dwindle, Refresh Coming Soon?
MacBook Air availability from third-party resellers is showing signs of dwindling supplies, suggesting that a refresh may be approaching in the relatively near future, perhaps as early as next week. Nearly every retailer has run out of stock of the low-end MacBook Air model, while several vendors are also showing no stock of the high-end model.
Emergency Facetime calls?
Some users are interested in a little button that is located in the lower right corner of the latest iPod touch screen. What can it be? Is it one of the Photoshop errors by Apple developers? Or are these the guidelines for Emergency calls while using VoIP? Here is one more Photoshop error (do you see the picture?)
