Brando has just opened its new sales of the Mini Microphone Capsule for iPhone. This is a small accessory, to be entered into the headphone jack, which allows you to record sounds 10 better than the internal microphone. As you can see in the image, the microphone is flexible and adjustable, improves the sound by 25 dB and also works on iPod Nano 4G and iPod Touch 2G. The accessory costs $14. Worms is a very famous game. This version was designed exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch and, according to developers, is similar to the PlayStation 3.

Apple’s third generation iPod touch seems to be going out for a little web-based test drive. Designated iPod touch 3,1, we first saw code hints of it in the iPhone 3.0 beta firmware, and then in rumors about the iPod touch getting a camera. Now, according to app analytics provider PinchMedia:

we’ve been noticing an “iPod 3,1″ string appearing in our version reporting, signifying what we believe to be a new yet-to-be-released version of the iPod Touch.

For the last two years, Apple has reveled new iPod touch models during their fall music-focused events. Last year, the second generation iPod touch debuted at Let’s Rock alongside iPhone 2.1, and iTunes 8. Since Apple likes their product cycles, does this mean we’ll see iPod touch 3,1 and iPhone 3.1 sometime this September?

You can download the new version of PwnageTool from here. This update is not for 3.1 firmware and is not for iPhone 3GS, it will not unlock your iPhone 3G - use redsn0w, purplera1n and other tools.

Skype, the application for iPhone and iPod Touch through which you can call and chat for free with your Skype contacts, has been updated to version 1.1. This is an update adds some small improvements and bug fixes.

What's new in version 1.1

• Support for the following languages: English, German, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Portuguese, Spanish, Norwegian, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Italian, French, Polish and Japanese.
• Send text (SMS) messages using Skype credit.
• Voicemail support.
• Improved dialing help when calling phones.

And after the various Key and provocations made by GeoHotz, the DevTeam has decided to write a new article on the official blog with good news for all owners of an iPhone 3GS! The DevTeam has verified that the exploit called 24Kpwn (used for the first time to unlock the iPod Touch 2G) is still valid and it works wonderfully for iPhone 3GS.

It seems the new version of bootrom used by Apple in 3GS dates back in August, a few months before the release of 24Kpwn, so there was no time to solve the problem.

In addition, the new daemon released by the team under the name of ultrasn0w (unlock for iPhone 3G) will work with iPhone 3GS.

New versions of redsn0w (jailbreak) and ultrasn0w (unlock) with iPhone 3GS support will be released soon.

This is the first iPhone application to contain bare boobs. The $1.99 app for iPhone and iPod touch only showed girls in lingerie and bikinis until now.

This is not just an application that downloads softcore content from the Web, bypassing Apple's censorship. There is no censorship here, as this is truly an Apple approved app "rated 17+" for "frequent/intense sexual content or nudity" and "frequent/intense mature/suggestive theme."

According to developers: "We uploaded nude topless pics today. This is the first app to have nudity".

Here is a video that shows how to get fancy iPhone 3GS battery indicator on any iPhone. Your phone needs to be jailbroken. Why this wasn't already included in all 3.0 firmware for all iPhones is questionable.

We just posted statistics from AdMob about firmwares on iPhones and iPods. Here are the numbers from another company - PinchMedia. This company deals with monitoring the use of applications.

The results below show that:

• most users (66%) use firmware 2.2.1,
• only 1 of 4 users installed the new 3.0 firmware,
• 7.3% of iPhone and iPod Touch owners performed jailbreak.

Admob has released new statistics showing the data about currently installed iPhone and iPod firmwares. Only 1% of the iPod Touch users has updated to firmware version 3.0! Probably the fact that the upgrade costs money discourages some users.

As for the iPhone the upgrade was performed by 44% of users. Of course these statistics may not be accurate as they are based on scripts present only in some AppStore applications.

Users from forum iPodTouchFans analyzed strings in firmware 3.0 and found traces of a new iPod model defined as "iPod3, 1". The current iPod Touch 2G is the "iPod2, 1". Apple typically releases a new iPod every year, precisely in September. In addition to 'iPod3, 1 were also found traces of a iPhone3, 1, "iFPGA" and "iProd0, 1" which still remain a mystery.

Among the various rumors there are:  new hardware and a camera in the next model of iPod Touch, video capture, etc. We shall see!

Apple announced today that the company has sold over 1 million iPhone 3G S models over this past weekend. The press release notably includes a quote from Steve Jobs:

"Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "With over 50,000 applications available from Apple's revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever."

The sales figures match those of last year's iPhone 3G launch weekend sales numbers. Apple also reports that six million customers have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software which works on the existing 40 million iPhone and iPod touch models.
