Super yacht "Venus", the design of which was commissioned by Apple’s co-founder, Steve Jobs, was officially launched in Aalsmeer, on Sunday. The opening was attended by the Jobs` family. 80-metre hull made entirely of aluminum. Yesterday, during the earnings call, Apple reported record fourth quarter profits that rose nearly 25% to $8.2 billion. The quarterly revenue amounted $36.0 billion for the three-month period ending ended September 29, 2012. Gross margin was 40.0 percent compared to 40.3 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 60 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

iFixit has already torn down the new 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro, saying that there are several improvement in accessibility compared to the 15-inch model.

One of the interesting changes is a battery layout with space underneath the trackpad being free of battery cells. Instead of battery cells in that area, Apple has opted to mount the flash storage, thus allowing access to the trackpad if it needs to be replaced.

9to5Mac reports that it has received information that Apple has refreshed Mac mini models that will likely launch today alongside the iPad mini. The website discovered before that Apple was planning two new standard configurations, as well as a third model running OS X Server. Moreover, the high-end models now move to quad-core processors. The new Mac mini models should retain the current pricing.

9to5Mac offered their suggestions related to the entry price point for Apple’s upcoming smaller iPad set to be released October 23rd. The entry price will be reportedly between the base model of the new, fifth-generation iPod touch ($299) and the currently shipping WiFi-only 16GB iPad 2 ($399). So, the base model of the smaller iPad will likely be priced at a minimum of $329 in the United States. A starting price of $329 makes sense. The new iPod touch will continue to be cheaper than Apple’s new tablet, while the smaller iPad’s pricing will also be nicely spaced under and between the new full-sized iPads.
