New iMacs Show 10-25% Performance Increase Over Previous Generation





Today Primate Labs reported about the Geekbench results for the new 21.5-inch iMac showing fairly strong increase in performance compared to the previous generation of computers. The report focuses on the 21,5'' iMacs, as the 27'' models will not be available for 2-3 more weeks. The new iMacs scored about 25% higher than its counterpart launched in 2011 and even outperformed the high-end 27-inch iMac from 2011 by about 10%.

New iMac Available For Order In The U.S.



Apple has already begun accepting orders for its new iMac models in the online store. The new iMac models offer significantly reduced thickness and add a new Fusion Drive combining a traditional hard drive and flash storage to maximize speed and capacity.

Apple Releases Revamped iTunes 11



Apple has just released a revamped iTunes 11 application for Macs. The new app features a redesigned interface that is simpler and cleaner compared to the previous version. For example, the new interface has an “Expanded view” feature that allows users to click an album to quickly see its content. This saves users from re-searching and save space within the app. In addition, this view will offer recommendations from iTunes Store for other music.

Shipments Of iPad mini And New iMac Will Be Constrained Until 2013



According to DigiTimes, shipments of the iMac and iPad mini are expected to be limited in 2012 due to display production issues.

Reportedly, the panels for the iPad mini have seen low yield rates. As a result, Apple may fall short of 10 million target and reach only 6 million mark for the shipments of the iPad mini in the fourth quarter.

Early Builds Of OS X 10.9 Include Maps And Siri Integration



According to 9to5mac, early builds of OS X 10.9, which are currently tested, show that Maps and Siri integration may come to Macs next year.

However, it is currently unknown if Siri will be part of OS X 10.9 for users. Apple already offers Mac users Text-to-Speech and Dictation functionality, but integration with Siri would presumably offer voice search and voice command services to Mac users.

TinyUmbrella Updated With Support for iOS 6.0, 6.0.1, iPad Mini, iPad 4



Semaphore has announced an update to TinyUmbrella utility that brings support for new firmwares iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1, as well support as new devices - iPad mini and the iPad 4. With TU users can save their SHSH keys for firmwares. Later these SHSH keys could be used for iOS downgrades.

I've updated TU to support iOS 6 and 6.0.1. The new iPad mini and iPad 4 are also supported as well as the new iphone 4 stealth revision.

Sorry for the delay folks. I'm still working on some pretty dang well needed changes to TU. The wait will be worth it...

iPad mini is more strongest than Nexus 7 and 3-rd generation iPad



An informal test of strength performed by the third-party warranty firm showed that despite the extremely slim body, the new iPad mini is stronger than the Google Nexus 7 and the third-generation iPad.

Phil Schiller Confirmed iPad Mini Carries Stereo Speakers

It seems that iPad mini launch this Friday will mark the first time an iOS device includes stereo speakers. It appears that Apple’s transition to the new Lightning connector has left sufficient space for one more speaker on the bottom edge of the tablet, though the company decided not to include additional speaker to the iPad 4. Until now iPad models only included a single speaker grille.
