Physical mockup shows the design of the iPad Mini [Photos]
New physical mockups photos show the expected design of the iPad mini rumored for release next month in October.
The images were posted to DGtle.com and reposted by Nowhereelse.fr. The mockup was made according to the recent rumors - skinnier side bezels and the look like a larger iPod touch.

MacRumors reader Michael Rou, who managed to obtain both a pre-production iPhone 5 case and a pre-production iPad mini case, posted the comparison photos on Flickr. The cases design is base on the recently leaked images and specifications coming out of Foxconn factories. The cases were produced by one of the case manufacturers ahead of the rumored devices launches. Apple is expected to introduce the new iPhone on September 12th at a special media event. Chinese website digi.163 posted new photos claiming to show the machined aluminum back casing bound for a rumored 7.85-inch iPad. Apple’s iPad mini will reportedly so thin and light that production of the device will be a challenge to a company. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo with KGI Securities claims that the smaller iPad will feature industry leading "GF Ditto," otherwise known as GF2, touchscreen technology. He said that Apple will be the first company in the world to commercialize and mass produce GF Ditto technology.

The Loop reports that Apple on Tuesday sent out invitations for an upcoming media event scheduled for next week Wednesday, September 12. Alleged Apple 'iPad mini' cases show rear camera, mystery hole
The protective third-party cases allegedly designed to fit Apple's rumored "iPad mini" were discovered and highlighted on Friday by Giz-China.com. The cases show a space on the back for a rear-facing camera at the top left of the device that suggests that like all other portable iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPod touch, the smaller iPad will feature a rear-facing camera.

“Supply volume of Apple's 7.85-inch iPad is estimated to reach four million units per month starting in September in order to prepare for demand from year-end holidays, according to sources from the upstream supply chain”.
