According to the latest report from a Chinese website Jiemian, Foxconn robots, which were designed to assemble Apple's iPhones, are currently not precise enough to cope with that task. However, this doesn't mean that they won't ever be used in the production of the smartphones. They can substitute human workers after Foxconn solves the problems Apple found.

Foxconn Gearing Up to Start Production of Sapphire Displays



According to the latest report from China Economic Weekly, Foxconn, one of Apple's largest suppliers, is currently gearing up to start the production of sapphire for next generations of company's mobile devices. Asian tech giant has reportedly got the final approval for building a large sapphire display manufacturing facility in Zhengzhou, China. The plant will be situated close to the facility, where the iPhone 6 units are currently assembled.

iOS 8.1.1 Slightly Improves Performance of iPhone 4S and iPad 2



As you probably know, after the release of iOS 8 back in September, many iPhone 4S users began reporting various performance issues. On Monday, Apple released iOS 8.1.1, which, according to the release notes, was expected to improve performance on older devices, namely, the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2. As noted by the researchers from Ars Technica, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system does improve the stability and performance of the older handsets and tablets, however, only slightly. Moreover, average users are very unlikely to notice these improvements as nearly all the build-in apps still work slower than that of iOS 7.

Apple to Integrate Beats Music in iOS?



According to the latest report from the Financial Times, the guys from Cupertino are currently planning to incorporate the recently-acquired music streaming service called Beats Music in iOS as soon as early next year. Building such an app directly into the mobile operating system will allow to lure new iPhone and iPad customers, make the service more popular and compete with the rivals, for example, with Spotify, on equal terms. Looks like the beginning of 2015 will be full of events.

Just one day after making iOS 8.1.1 available for users worldwide, Apple on Tuesday seeded iOS 8.2 to developers for testing. What is interesting about this particular update is that it contains WatchKit SDK that allows to create apps for the Apple Watch. Apple Releases iOS 8.1.1 with Stability Improvements and Bug Fixes



Apple has just released iOS 8.1.1 to users worldwide. The public release comes two weeks after the release of the beta version that contained a wide number of bug fixes, but lacked new functionality. Looks like this is another minor update aimed at making the mobile operating system more stable. What is also interesting about iOS 8.1.1 is that it reportedly kills Pangu untethered jailbreak, so if you want to keep your device jailbroken, stay away from this software update.

Apple's iPhone 5s, Samsung's Galaxy S5, Nexus 5 and Other Devices Hacked by Security Researchers



At the annual two-day Mobile Pwn2Own conference held earlier this week by HP, several groups of developers managed to find a number of bugs in iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms and successfully hacked Apple's iPhone 5s, Samsung's Galaxy S5, Google's Nexus 5, Microsoft's Nokia Lumia 1520 and Amazon's Fire Phone. What I find interesting is that the hackers were able to get full control over all of the handsets except for one. You will never guess, which device turned out to be the most reliable.

iOS 8 Adoption Rate Is Now Close to 60% - Apple



According to what can be found on the App Store support page for developers, the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system is currently installed on 56% of compatible devices. Over the past month, the adoption rate has increased 8% and that is an impressive result, I must say. In case you don't know, Apple made the eighth version of iOS available for users worldwide seven and a half weeks ago.

According to the latest Mobility Index Report published by a research firm called Good Technology, iOS market share in the enterprise market remains high and even goes up.
