Steve Jobs' liver transplant helped inspire Facebook organ donor program

Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg mentioned in an interview with ABC News that his friendship with Steve Jobs and his liver transplant that extended his life came to mind as he worked on a plan to increase the number of organ donors.
"That definitely, I think, was something that we all had in mind as we were building this out," Zuckerberg said. "His story is just one of many, of people who both were able to have an organ transplant that made his life longer, and he was extremely thankful for that."

Pod2g has announced the discovery of 2 new vulnerabilities in his quest to jailbreak the iPhone.
News: a productive week-end. Found 2 big vulnerabilities. 1 kernel land and 1 root land.
Too bad I have to be secret again...
Last week pod2g noted that a jailbreak of iOS 5.1 would take at least a month to complete. We'll post more information about how these new vulnerabilities will affect that schedule as soon as we hear more.
If the kernel land vulnerability is exploitable this could provide a jailbreak for the device no matter the firmware.

Australian Parliament Asked Apple To Justify Increased Prices For Australians
Apple and some other companies will soon have to explain to the Australian Parliament why content from iTunes is more expensive for Australian consumers that for consumers in U.S. The Sydney Morning Herald, the Minister for Communications Stephen Conroy has approved a parliamentary inquiry that will be held sometimes this year.
Mac App Store Reaches 10,000 Available Apps
According to , Apple's Mac App Store reached a milestone of 10,000 apps that are available for free download or purchase via the marketplace.
Apple distributes its own major software titles for the Mac platform and OS X Lion itself through the store that was launched in January 2011.
Apple is Blocking the SAM Unlock, Backup Your Unlock Tickets!
Apple is currently in the process of blocking the SAM unlock, reports MuscleNerd. If you need to unlock a SIM or backup your unlock ticket do it now!

Looks like Apple's currently fixing their activation servers. But the good news is that previous tickets gotten via SAM trick still work.
Those who managed to unlock using SAM should save the unlock tickets. To do it just use iFile or iFunbox and save /var/root/Library/Lockdown, or use latest Redsn0w (Extras -> Even more -> backup).

iMore, Apple has replaced iMacs with iPads on the kid’s table at Apple’s retail stores. Previously, iMacs were loaded with games for kids and were placed on the kid’s table at children’s height. Apple plans to block competitors' prying ears with new off-campus cafeteria
The San Jose Mercury News reports that on Tuesday the Planning Commission unanimously approved the project of 21,468-square-foot cafeteria near Apple’s Cupertino, Calif., headquarters. The non-Apple employees will not be welcomed in the cafeteria that will allow Apple employees to speak freely about their business without fearing that competitors are eavesdropping.
"We like to provide a level of security so that people and employees can feel comfortable talking about their business, their research and whatever project they're engineering without fear of competition soft of overhearing their conversations," said Dan Wisenhunt, Apple's director of real estate facilities. "That is a real issue today in Cupertino because we've got other companies here in our same business."
The cafeteria will be a two-story building that will include a cafe, meeting rooms, lounge areas and courtyard space. The second floor will be intended for cafeteria employees for storage, locker rooms, restrooms and more. The site will also include 70 parking spaces housed in an underground garage.
Apple Shows Off Use Of iPhone In The Enterprise Sector
On its website Apple posted a new that highlights the use of iPhone in the enterprise market. The page shows how the device can be used in the business environment to manage projects, organize days, set calendar appointments, read mail, keep contacts organized, setup meetings, and more. The company also highlighted specific apps like “OmniFocus”, “GoToMeeting”, “TripIt,” “MicroStrategy” for iPhone that are available on the App Store.
Apple's next iPhone to have glass replaced with Liquidmetal
New rumors claim that Apple's next-generation iPhone will replace its glass back with the super-durable Liquidmetal alloy.
The claim was published on Wednesday by Korea IT News, which said Apple's sixth-generation iPhone will be made of zirconium, titanium, nickel, copper "and so forth." It also said it will have a "surface smooth like liquid."
Pod2g now has all exploits to release iOS 5.1 jailbreak

Famous hacker pod2g has announced that the Chronic Dev-Team now has all the exploits required to release a userland jailbreak for iOS 5.1.
News: we have all exploits required to do a new jailbreak. I'm working on bypassing ASLR at bootup.
Last month Pod2g said that the team only had a few pieces of a userland jailbreak. Now that the team has them all, it will still take some time to put them together in a public ready tool.
Since this is a userland jailbreak, it will be the first publicly available jailbreak of the iPad 3. I0n1c has demonstrated a jailbreak of the new device, however, he's said he will not release his jailbreak to the public.

AT&T Will Start Unlocking Off Contract iPhones

AT&T has announced that it will unlock off contract iPhones.
Here AT&T's statement:
Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer's account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee.
This is excellent news for the many U.S. customers with locked iPhones.
