There is no unthethered jailbreak for new iPhone 3GS bootroms and iOS 4.2.1 yet, so you should stay at iOS 4.1.

MobileTerminal is a terminal emulator application for the iPad and iPhone. The version of MobileTerminal that is available in Cydia doesn't work with iPhone iOS 4.x and iOS 5.x. However there are beta versions that do work, but aren't on Cydia because they are still in beta stages. This tutorial will show you step-by-step how to install MobileTerminal on iPhone with iOS 4.x and iOS 5.x (tutorial for iPad is here). Today Cult Of Mac in reference to anonymous sources reported that Apple is currently working on another communication technology, which will be used in future Macs and iPhones. Rumor has it that the functionality will be implemented in the iPhone 5, which will allegedly appear in June 2011.

According to the source, an RFID chip can be used in iPhone. When the device will reach the proximity of a Mac, the users will be allowed to load applications, data and settings from the phone to the computer. In case the distance between the devices will become too long the connection disappears and the data will be inaccessible.

On Thursday Apple released an update for the most recent version of its Mac Pro desktop machine. The Mac Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.5 includes fixes for a few bugs: one that resolves an issue preventing the firmware password prompt from being displayed, and the other that smoothes out incidents where the Boot Picker doesn’t show up if the machine is on an Ethernet network without DHCP. The update is recommended for all users of the 12 cores Mac Pro models. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.4.

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone using PwnageTool 4.1.2 for Mac OS X. If you need unlock and you have not updated to iOS 4 you will be able to preserve baseband and unlock iPhone using ultrasn0w.

This guide will work for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad and AppleTV. Just use the right firmware and select the right device (step four).

Step One

When downloading the IPSW file, it is best to download it with Firefox since Safari often auto extracts it!

Double click to mount PwnageTool then drag the PwnageTool icon into the Pwnage folder.

FaceTime feature gives users the possibility to make  voice calls. Apple restricted this feature to Wi-Fi only. Today it became possible to use it over 3G!

Setup Instructions:

1. Jailbreak your iPhone 4 via www.jailbreakme.com.
2. Download and upgrade to the latest Cydia package.
3. Open Cydia, Go to Manage then Sources.
4. Click Sources, Edit then add: http://apt.modmyi.com
5. Search for "My3G" -- download, and install it. It costs $2.79. My3G makes Apps believe that they are on WiFi instead of 3G.
6. Go through the Rock setup process with a username and password. Open My3G and leave all settings on the default.
7. FaceTime should now work over 3G! -- Make sure to "Forget" the WiFi network you are on (via iOS settings) if you want to test it.

We haven't seen any difference between the 3G FaceTime call and a WiFi FaceTime call. The quality is very good.

At the Black Hat security conference, which is being held this week, research firm Lookout told about malicious application that was found in Google's Android Market. It was collecting private data (such as phone's SIM card number, text messages, browsing history, voice mail password and subscriber identification) and then sending it to a web site imnet.us, which is owned by an unknown person in Shenzhen, China.

According to VentureBeat report, written by Dean Takahashi, an app was claimed to load custom background wallpapers and was submitted by Jackeey Wallpaper.

As you remember, few weeks ago iTunes Store was hacked and the top list of the Books category had been filled with a bunch of obscure books. That was achieved by a number of unauthorized charges that were made on accounts of several iTunes users, who eventually lost few hundred dollars. In turn Apple deleted developers who were found to use the fraudulent purchases.

These days Apple added new layer of security which now require every user to enter the security code of their credit card each time they register a new device or computer with their account, according to Different District blog. So if earlier malicious user just needed to guess a password for the account in order to receive and/or resell the acquired information to fraudulent buyers, after Apple’s security innovation it will require more efforts to do that.

Yesterday Apple presented new version of the MobileMe subscription service alone with its new design and Find My iPhone application.
