Apple's next iPhone expected to launch in October with Qualcomm LTE chip
Analyst Gene Munster with Piper Jaffray expects that Apple plans to launch its sixth-generation iPhone before October of this year and with LTE 4G connectivity. Last year's iPhone 4S launch was uncharacteristic for Apple, which had previously introduced new handsets at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
"It is more likely the phone launches in October given Qualcomm commentary around 28nm chip supply," he said. "We believe Apple will include LTE in the iPhone 5 as an important feature in the product update."

Pod2g now has all exploits to release iOS 5.1 jailbreak
Famous hacker pod2g has announced that the Chronic Dev-Team now has all the exploits required to release a userland jailbreak for iOS 5.1.
News: we have all exploits required to do a new jailbreak. I'm working on bypassing ASLR at bootup.
Last month Pod2g said that the team only had a few pieces of a userland jailbreak. Now that the team has them all, it will still take some time to put them together in a public ready tool.
Since this is a userland jailbreak, it will be the first publicly available jailbreak of the iPad 3. I0n1c has demonstrated a jailbreak of the new device, however, he's said he will not release his jailbreak to the public.

Apple partner TSMC ramping up production of 28nm mobile chips
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is expected to begin ramping up manufacturing of its 28-nanometer ARM processors.
TSMC is said to currently have a decent yield rate on its 28nm processes, but the company remains cautious on expansion, partially because the 28nm process is so new to the industry.
For example, Apple, one of the largest users of mobile processors, still relies on the 45nm manufacturing process for its latest-generation A5X ARM CPU found in the third-generation iPad. Apple is said to have viewed newer chips as a potential risk to their products, and have stuck with older processes to ensure availability and reliability.
