Apple Will Discontinue iPhone 3GS And Introduce 8GB iPhone 4S
According to a from The Telegraph, Apple will likely discontinue the iPhone 3GS once it introduces the new iPhone at next week’s media event. The report also said that Apple will likely introduce an 8 GB iPhone 4S with a middle price point as it did with the iPhone 4 last year.
“The new update will mean that the 8GB version of the iPhone 4 will be the entry-level iPhone, probably given away free on £20 per month contracts, as the 3GS is currently”.
The Telegraph also notes that iPhone 5 will come in three different capacities, probably the same 64 GB/32 GB/16 GB line seen with the iPhone 4S.
Moving the iPhone 4 into the position that is currently occupied by the iPhone 3GS would allow more carriers to offer a free iPhone, because the iPhone 4 is sold in both CDMA and GSM versions while the iPhone 3GS is only offered in GSM version.
The iPhone 3GS would probably be most missed by customers who want to buy contract-free smartphones. Currently Apple sells contract-free, unlocked iPhone 3GS for $375 in the U.S. and at higher prices in other countries such as $455 in China. If the company elected to continue selling the device along with its three other iPhone models, it would have to cut the price even further.
New Photos Show Details of Alleged 'iPad Mini' Rear Shell
Chinese website digi.163 posted new photos claiming to show the machined aluminum back casing bound for a rumored 7.85-inch iPad. Apple is rumored to be launching the 7.85-inch iPad in October, with the device expected to be as thin as the iPod touch while retaining some of the media player's design assets like thinner bezels. But the closer inspection of the part reveals slight discrepancies regarding the rumored tablet's design.

Repair firm iResQ has posted side-by-side comparison shots of the purported next-generation iPhone and the iPhone 4S. The photo shows that the iPhone 5 is indeed substantially thinner than the iPhone 4S. Apple's move toward thinner body components and a thinner distribution of internal components enabled by the larger surface area due to the 4-inch screen of the iPhone 5 have allowed the company to substantially shrink the device's overall thickness.

As usual, the details on the updated devices are scarce, but it seems that Apple will release two or even three updated product lines. Two of the lines appear to correspond to the current iPod shuffle and iPod nano. As for the third product, the report speculates that it could arrive as a new line, allowing Apple to continue offering the current iPod nano design that has gained a following for its small size combined with touchscreen capabilities.
Apple Will Be Only Supplier of New Dock Connector Adapter
iLounge that Apple will be the only supplier of its new adapter for the next iPhone that will allow the new device to be used with 30-pin dock connectors. Reportedly Apple will sell these adapters for $10 each or $29 for three pieces. However, it is also possible that the company will allow third parties to manufacture such adapters at a later date.
Comparison Photos of iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 Batteries
While several photos of the next-generation iPhone battery have leaked in August, Apple products repair firm iResQ has now got one of the batteries and published new photos that show the battery in the device’s rear shell and next to the battery from iPhone 4S for comparison.
The iPhone 5 battery is at 3.8 volts, potentially utilizing new chemistry technology to increase capacity to 5.45Whr from the 3.7 volt/5.3Whr iPhone 4S battery. The comparison photo shows that the iPhone 5 battery is slightly taller than the battery in the iPhone 4S, and the thickness seems almost the same despite the fact the iPhone 5 is said to be at least 15 percent thinner than the iPhone 4S.
The photos also show that the connector on the next iPhone is different and it is located on the opposite side of its battery in order to accommodate its new position in the device.
'iPad mini' will be challengingly thin thanks to 'GF2' technology
Apple’s iPad mini will reportedly so thin and light that production of the device will be a challenge to a company. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo with KGI Securities claims that the smaller iPad will feature industry leading "GF Ditto," otherwise known as GF2, touchscreen technology. He said that Apple will be the first company in the world to commercialize and mass produce GF Ditto technology.

The Loop reports that Apple on Tuesday sent out invitations for an upcoming media event scheduled for next week Wednesday, September 12. The latest monthly data of desktop operating shares from Net Applications shows that total Web usage of Apple's OS X operating system has exceeded Microsoft's Windows Vista. Microsoft's Windows Vista fell in August to 6.15 percent of tracked Web usage. Meanwhile, Apple's latest operating system, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, grew to 1.34 percent.
Hackers Released 1 Million UDIDs From IOS Devices
Today hacker group around 1 million UDIDs (unique identifiers) from iOS devices. Reportedly the records came from a file stolen by hackers from an FBI laptop in March. The file was said to contain a list of 12 million iOS devices including user names, cellphone numbers, zip codes, addresses, type of device, UDIDs, name of device, Apple Push Notification Service tokens, etc, but the whole list was incompleted as most personal details fields were empty.

According to a report by RepairLabs, Apple's sixth generation iPhone components appear to be reverting back to some design elements of the iPhone 3GS. Video Shows Completely Redesigned Headphones for iPhone 5
Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn posted the video, showing what is allegedly a totally redesigned pair of Apple in-ear headphones. The site also notes that the product will likely be introduced either alongside the sixth-generation iPhone. The site claims that the new headphones are manufactured in Vietnam in a Foxconn plant as cable labeling reads "Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Vietnam." The in-ear unit is somewhat a departure from current earphone models from Apple, featuring a truncated teardrop shape that is supposedly more comfortable than the gratis set supplied with the iPhone.

Hands On with a Physical Mockup of the iPhone 5
GSM Israel posted a video of a physical mock-up of the iPhone 5. The device in the video appears fairly similar to the dozens of earlier leaked enclosures said to represent the new iPhone. GSM Israel says it stumbled upon the device at the booth of a third party accessory maker during its normal tour of the IFA show floor in Berlin on Saturday. The physical mockup was created by a case manufacturer to test early case designs on the upcoming iPhone.
