DevTeam released Ultrasn0w - application that will unlock your iPhone 3G with firmware 3.0. Here are the instructions:

1. Ensure you have upgraded to iPhone OS 3.0
2. Jailbreak your iPhone using redsn0w (this will also install Cydia)
3. Run Cydia
4. Please add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia. That last “o” is actually the number zero “0”! If you use the letter “o” you’ll get an error.
5. Search for ‘ultrasn0w’ in cydia or icy and install ultrasn0w
6. Reboot your iPhone 3G
7. T-Mobile USA users should disable 3G before using ultrasn0w
8. Enjoy

iPhone OS 3.0 is now available. Update via iTunes (you need 8.2) or download here. Firmwares are avaliable for all devices: iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch and iPod Touch 2G. Here is a link to official Apple site about this upgrade.

Do not upgrade if you want jailbreak and/or unlock. Just wait for DevTeam to release their software.

Fring app is updated to a new version. You can download it in AppStore (link). The question is who needs Fring, when we have official Skype app?

Apple released iTunes 8.2. You can download it here.

This update breaks your ability to use QuickPwn, PwnageTool, and iPhone Tunneling Suite (ssh over usb). Many file managers do not work with iTunes 8.2 installed. We don’t think this is a deliberate breakage of these tools.  It’s just that Apple has updated a low-level USB protocol. It may also break Palm Pre’s connection to the device.

So if you jailbreak, we recommend you not to update.

The game of Eminem (the famous American rapper), is now available in Store. The rumors were true and Relapse is released. The goal of the game is to survive and the dynamics is quite similar to Zombieville USA.

NYC UpNext 3D is a new application available in AppStore. It offers a 3D map of New York. There is a support for GPS, users can see their position and all the surrounding streets. The application also includes Manhattan. Every single building is shown with the correct proportions of height, width and thickness. UpNext 3D NYC integrates many points of interest and users reviews. The app is very well made. There is even a subway map.

AppStore and iTunes are great. But when we want other useful apps we jailbreak and run Cydia. Some use Installer, others prefer Icy. Here is a demonstration of new app to install 3-rd party apps called Kryptes:

The mobile Yandex.Traffic Lite application allows monitor road traffic in real time for efficient route planning. The application shows traffic in four Russain cities: Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Kiev. It is easy to use: just turn it on and choose the city. The application features scalable maps, and also shows the traffic congestion score and its tendency. The application requires active internet connection to function.

reMail Search is a new application available for free in AppStore (link). It allows users to perform accurate searches in emails. There is an automatic completion of keywords in the search mode, so you can find neccesary emails very quickly.

reMail Search also works offline. The application, in fact, downloads e-mails keeping them in the cache on your iPhone / iPod Touch. reMail Search also works with all IMAP accounts, such as Gmail. The application is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch, requires upgrading to firmware 2.2 and is localized in English.

Apple has just released iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5 build 7A312g, almost a week after they released beta 4. With this released they also released a new version of the iPhone SDK and iTunes 8.2 (b10)

Remember this are only available to register developers and if you are not we recomend not to install or you will have a device with a pink screen of death since you need to activate the beta using iTunes and your device must be register in a database.
