5.5-inch iPhone 6 Won't Be Released Until Late 2014 or Early 2015 - Analyst





According to the latest reports from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple’s 5.5-inch iPhone 6 may be delayed until late 2014 or even early 2015. The reasons for such a delay are probably connected with manufacturing difficulties. These difficulties include the production of the smartphone front and rear panels.

It is Sunday again, so looks like it's high time I told you about the most interesting stories of the past seven days.

As you may have noticed, most of the posts deal with Apple's long-anticipated iPhone 6 and the iWatch. According to the latest rumors, the first gadget will be equipped with a dual-core 2GHz processor. The mass-production of the handset will start later this month. If to speak about Apple's smartwatch, we shall see it no sooner than in the fourth quarter of 2014. The mass-production will reportedly begin in November.

Photos showing first working iPhone 6 clones have recently surfaced on the Internet. The device depicted on the mages is based on the leaked schematics and components that began appearing on the Internet several months ago.

According to what nowhereelse.fr writes, what we actually see is a device assembled by an unknown Chinese firm, which is working on Android. It would be interesting to see how Apple reacts to this model.

New Rumors About Apple's A8 Processor Appear Online



According to the most recent rumors, Apple’s next-generation A8 processor won’t be quad-core as was reported earlier. As noted by several supply chain sources, the chip will boast of the clock speed of at least 2GHz, but will remain dual-core.

Mass-Production of iWatch to Start in November



According to a new report from a well-known and usually reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple’s long-anticipated iWatch won’t enter mass-production until November. Previously, it was believed that the manufacture of the smartwatch would start in September.

Looks like the development of the iWatch turned out to be more difficult than the guys from Cupertino expected. There are several reasons for that, namely, a new curved AMOLED screen, a sapphire cover etc.

Robots Will Assist Human Workers at Foxconn



Earlier this week I told you that Foxconn executives are planning to replace several thousands of workers with robots. Looks like I was mistaken as according to a new report from Asia, Foxconn’s so-called Foxbots will only assist assembly line workers. While this is a massive step forward, it is still too early to talk about the fundamental changes in the iPhone manufacturing process.

According to a new report from a research firm ABI Research, Apple's iPhone 5s is currently the world’s top selling smartphone. The second, the third and the fourth places in the rating are occupied by Samsung’s Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 LTE respectively. The last spot in the Top 5 ranking was given to the iPhone 4S.

Apple Signs Deal with Major Saudi Arabian Retailer



Apple has reportedly signed a deal with one of the major Arabian retailers called Jarir Bookstore. This deal will allow the guys from Cupertino to sell their products and offer additional services to local customers more efficiently than before. Moreover, Apple’s gadgets will become cheaper since the retailer won’t have to pay third-party distributors.
