Apple Releases Eighth OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 Beta





Apple on Monday released a new OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 beta to developers for testing. As to the previous beta, it was released on Wednesday and contained minor improvements and bug fixes.

Monday's beta-version has a build number 13D45a. There're no noticeable new features. Apple has again asked its registered developers to focus on Graphics Drivers, Audio, Mail, Safari browser, Contacts and Calendar sync over USB in iTunes.

Apple to Start Working on New Device-Unlocking System?



According to the latest patent filings published on Thursday by the US Patent and Trademark Office, Apple is planning to develop a new device-unlocking system. This system will allow users to unlock their iOS devices by connecting a set of illuminated dots, so that drawing a custom pattern on the screen of the device. The patent applications are entitled 'Gesture entry techniques'. There're two filings that deal with the new technology, not one, which a bit strange, I guess.

Updated iPad Air and Retina iPad mini to Feature New Processor, Camera and Touch ID



As you probably know, Apple is expected to release an updated iPad Air and Retina iPad mini later this year. This is what KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed on Thursday. Both gadgets may get a fingerprint sensor, an improved Apple A8 processor and an 8 megapixel camera. However, it should be noted that the company from Cupertino hasn't yet confirmed the rumors mentioned above, so the release is stil under the question.

12 Million People Downloaded Office for iPad - Microsoft



Just a week after the official release, iWork's main rival - Office for iPad - managed to set a new App Store record. Microsoft on Thursday announced 12 million downloads of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. What a result, huh?

Recently Released Microsoft Office Apps Top App Store Charts



As you probably know, Microsoft on Thursday released its long-anticipated Office for iPad. The office suite consists of three apps, namely, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Just two days after the official release, these apps are now ranking as top three free apps on the App Store. What a successful debut, huh?

Apple's iPhones and iPads Don't Infringe on Samsung Patents - Japanese Court



According to the latest Japanese court ruling, Apple’s iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 don’t infringe on Samsung patents. Such a decision was revealed on Tuesday. What this means is that the company from Cupertino has won another court case against its South Korean rival. Anyway, I don’t think Samsung lawyers will come down and accept this ruling.

4.7-inch iPhone 6 to Be Released Soon, 5.5-inch Model Under Question



As you probably know, the company from Cupertino is expected to release two iPhone 6 models in 2014. One will feature a 5.5-inch and another - a 4.7-inch display. Apple's New 8GB iPhone 5c Will Be Available Only in the U.K., France, Germany, Australia and China
