Google Now video was accidentally appeared on YouTube





Google Now is available only on Android devices, aimed at giving users “the right information, at the right time", appears on iOS, unless a leaked video is to be believed. Google reportedly released a promo video on YouTube accidentally. The record was quickly removed, but not before an Engadget made a copy of  it.

Apple Offers Refurbished iPad 4 And iPad Mini For The First Time



Apple has for the first time listed the iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad on its Refurbished store. Currently there is a fairly limited selection, but Apple offers disounts at $30-$40 on the iPad mini and $50 on the iPad 4 models.

Twitter Is Preparing To Launch IOS Music Discovery App



According to CNET, Twitter might launch a new standalone music discovery app for iOS by the end of this month. The report claimed, citing a person familiar with the matter, that Twitter would use technology from music discovery service We Are Hunted, which was acquired by Twitter last year, to provide a music service called “Twitter Music.” The report says:

In 2012 Samsung Outpaced Apple In Advertising Spending



The Wall Street Journal published a new report outlining Samsung’s aggressive advertising in 2012 based on the latest data from research company Kantar Media. The report notes that Samsung significantly increased its phone ad spending from $78M in 2011 to $401M in 2012, 20 percent higher than $333M spend by Apple.

IDC Estimates Android Will Overtake Apple In Worldwide Tablet Market In 2013



Research firm IDC today published updated 2013 estimates for worldwide tablet shipments. The company increased its estimates from 172.4 million to 190.9 million units for the year and claims that shipments of Android-based tablets will continue to rise and eat into Apple’s marketshare. IDC notes that Android will take 48.8 percent of the worldwide tablet market by the end of this year, compared to 41.5% in its previous forecast, while Apple is predicted to capture 46.0%, down from 51% in 2012.

Application that hides the standard apps on the iPhone, such as Stocks or Newsstand, hasn`t been established in the Apple’s App Store.

The Evad3rs have released Evasi0n 1.5.3 - an updated version of utility for iOS 6.0 - iOS 6.1.2 untethered jailbreak. New version brings localization for French, German, and Chinese and fixes some bugs in Windows version.

Sn0wBreeze 2.9.13 released: custom firmware and jailbreak for iOS 6.1.2



iH8Sn0w released Sn0wBreeze 2.9.13 that still supports untethered jailbreak of iOS 6.1.2. Version 2.9.13 fixes several issues and bugs found in earlier sn0wbreeze releases.

Sn0wbreeze 2.9.13 supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. It does not work with A5/A6 devices, like iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, etc.

Sn0wbreeze can be used to create a custom firmware with jailbreak and preserve iPhone modem (baseband) version for unlock. It can also be used to upgrade iPhone 3GS modem version to 06.15.

iPhone 5S Will Include NFC Functionality And Fingerprint Sensor



China Times reports that Taiwanese chip company Chipbond has been chosen to supply a number of iPhone 5S’ components, including chips to support near field communication (NFC) functionality, fingerprint sensors and touch display drivers. According to the report, Apple will use the fingerprint sensor capabilities to improve the security of NFC-based features such as mobile payments.

Apple's iWatch isn't the next revolution



Bloomberg reports that Swatch CEO Nick Hayek does not believe that potential iWatch could replace the iPhone. At a press conference in Grenchen, Switzerland, Hayek hinted that a smart watch from Apple will fail due to the small size of the display.

Intel And Apple Discussed Deal For Production Of iPad And iPhone Chips



According to Reuters, Intel is likely to move into contract manufacturing business, which suggests that Apple could become its future customer with chips for the iPad and iPhone, thus reducing its reliance on Samsung as a supplier. Reportedly, last year Intel and Apple executives discussed the issue, but no agreement has been concluded.

Analysts Suggest Apple Will Miss Its Revenue Forecast For 2Q 2013



Citi analysts issued a new research note claiming that Apple will miss its own revenue estimates of $41-43 billion for the second quarter by more than $500 million.

According to CNET, the research note says that reduced demand for iPhone 5 related components in Apple supply chain indicates that there is a softer demand for iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.

Samsung takes 3% stake in Sharp screen production




The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung has paid $112 million for a 3% stakes of Sharp's LCD screens, which is a key supplier of LCD screens for Samsung and Apple.
